Creativity. Teamwork. Resilience.
This weekend, I had the privilege of watching incredible young minds compete in the Odyssey of the Mind State Competition—and it was a powerful reminder of what happens when kids are given the space to think differently.
From spontaneous problem-solving to long-term creative challenges, these students demonstrated skills that go far beyond academics: flexible thinking, emotional regulation, collaboration, and confidence under pressure.
In psychology, we know that experiences like this help build executive functioning, frustration tolerance, and self-esteem. It’s not just about the performance—it’s about learning how to adapt, persist, and believe in your ideas.
To all the participants: your creativity and courage were inspiring. And to the families, coaches, and educators supporting them—thank you for nurturing these essential life skills.
Let’s continue to encourage our kids to take risks, solve problems, and embrace their unique ways of thinking. 💡
