Anne Marie Johnson, 76, of Pontiac, IL, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. She was surrounded by family and loved ones, embraced by the grace of God in her final moments.

Anne was born on May 5, 1949, at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Prior to retirement, Anne was an activities supervisor at West Chicago Terrace where she enjoyed creating an enriching and fun environment for the residents. Once she retired and moved back to Pontiac to be closer to her family, she moved into The Pointe assisted living. She adored all animals but especially her (spoiled) cat Chloe and truly looked forward to the Livingston County Humane society’s regular visits where she gave each visiting pet all her attention.

Anne truly loved to talk to and spend time with family. She had such a special bond and loved her weekly outings to the library, Dairy Queen, and Walmart with her sister Claire, was so appreciative of her sister Paula for taking her to Mass on Sundays and always supplying her with her favorite candy, the surprise visits from her sister Mary when she came to town, those regular phone calls from her sister Jane, texts from Jamie, and was so proud of her brother Pat. When her kids and grandkids called, they had to plan at least an hour long call as Anne loved to chat for long periods of time. She was so proud to introduce her children and grandchildren to everyone at The Pointe every visit, whether you met them on your last visit or not. Every new picture she received of her great-grandchildren was instantly shared with all the staff and her friends at The Pointe. Anne was so excited to be a member of The Pointe’s Wii bowling league where her competitive side certainly shined. Her lifelong love for the Chicago Bears shone through in her excitement from the start of training season to the final game, always proudly wearing her favorite Bears sweatshirt or jacket. If she wasn’t spending time with her dear friend Pat, she was singing along to The Fedoras play live on Friday nights while wearing one of her favorite fedora hats. She also found joy in reading, watching cooking shows, dining out, and shopping.

She is survived by her children; Jodi Brummel, Greg Eady, Melinda (Mindi) Eady, her grandchildren; Daniele Eady, Andrew Brummel, James Eady, Summer Eady, Lisa Ocon, Joshua King, her great grandchildren; Christian, Eliyanah, Joshua Jr., Sophia, her siblings; Claire Mays, Jamie Huffman (Connie) Paula Corrigan (Roger), Mary Mason (Kevin), Pat Huffman (Patti), Jane Czarnopys (Greg), and her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Paul Huffman, mother Gloria Huffman (Bruss), and stepmother Charlotte Huffman (Finlen) and many loving extending family members.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 119 E. Howard St., Pontiac, IL. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Livingston County Humane Society, St Mary’s, or a charity of your choice in memory of Anne Marie Johnson.

“Eternal rest grant upon her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
