An updateof sorts. Still not seeing Patients due the Lock down/Shelter-at-Home orders. As soon as we get word about opening back up, we will post it right here on this Page.

Been getting a lot of questions why the Dr. Is not doing Exams during the Lock down/Pandemic. The easiest way to answer that question is simply "Social Distancing". You need to be 6 feet away and during an Eye Exam, the Dr generally needs to be much closer. The same thing goes when the Exam is done. The Opticians have to be far closer than the expected 6 feet Distance to properly fit a pair of glasses. Not to mention the sanitizing of the frames, equipment and tools so nothing is passed on from one Person to another.
It is all about the Safety of both the Patient and the Dr and the Staff.

We are still in the grips of the "Shelter in Place" order. We are currently not able to make any appointments until the Order is lifted. The Vision Center itself is open for emergency repairs daily from 10-2pm. Watch here for any new developments.

We are now into Week 2 of the Shelter in Place Order by the State of Illinois. This means that while the Office is open from 10-2pm for emergencies, the Dr is not able to be in the Office for Exams. We apologize for the inconvenience. As soon as we get the All Clear, we can start setting up Appointments.

As Summer quickly becomes Fall, it is a great time to update your Contacts Rx and Glasses Rx. The Dr 7 in on Saturdays from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm and Mondays from 11 am until 4pm. Call us at 815 842 2439. Someone is always there Mondaythru Saturday 9am until 6pm and Sunday 12 pm until 5 pm.

There is a popular thought that you need to buy your glasses and/or your contacts at the same place you got your exam. Not true. You can take your current Rx anywhere that sell glasses and contact lenses. Ask an Optician at you friendly Optical Center what is needed for an Rx to be valid. For example, in Illinois the Rx must be signed by the prescribing Dr. and have the date of service on it for Glasses. If there is no expiration date, it defaults to 1 year of the prescription date. There are a few more things that are needed for contact lenses, so it is best to ask an Optician for the requirements in your area.

Remember, getting books and supplies and a new wardrobe for the upcoming School year is just the start. A comprehensive eye exam will put the finishing touches on getting ready to go back to School. Dr is in on Mondays from 11am-4pm and Saturdays from 9am-1pm. Walk ins are welcome but you might have to wait a little bit during this busy time of year. Call for appointments or just to find out about any openings. 815 842 2439 is our number and while the Dr is here on Mondays and Saturdays, we are here everyday 9am-6pm and Sundays 12pm-5pm.

Just looking at the Calendar and I see that School starts in abut 2 weeks. It's not to late to get an Eye Exam. Dr. Is in on Saturdays from 9:15-1:00 and on Mondays from 11am-4pm. Call 815 842 2439 for an Appointment. They are filling up fast.
