Pet of the week: Abel
Who doesn't love puppy kisses? I'm like a stealthy little ninja, sneaking up on you to smooch your nose and maybe even your ear. *slurp, sneak attack!* So, are you a fan of tennis balls? Because I am totally obsessed! What about splashing around in the water? Yeah, me too! Do you enjoy playing with dogs? Ditto! Ice cubes, anyone? I'll share mine if you want! My foster mom thinks I'm a big baby, but hey, being a baby is awesome! I'm really good at crate-time and I love having some alone time to recharge. My house training is going paw-some, with only the occasional oops. I'm a German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees mix, which means I've got the adorable head tilt and floppy ear thing going on – all the ladies love it! Pet of the Week: Izzi has dealt with a lot of changes in her life, causing her to be a bit wary of new people. Once she gets past the first meeting jitters, she melts into the sweetest girl who just wants to be your best friend. Izzi can also be nervous when meeting new dogs, but does well with dogs that are her size or smaller once she gets to know them. In her foster home, she lives with five other dogs of various sizes, but has one who is her play buddy (she mostly ignores the rest). She is protective of her food and will grumble at other pups if they come too close while she’s eating. Izzi would probably become her best self as the only dog or with one other dog in the home who likes to play. She loves to be outside watching the squirrels, but her favorite place is next to you on the couch with her head in your lap. Izzi does great on a leash and loves her walks. She is housebroken, crate trained, and rides well in a car. This sweet girl deserves a chance – she just needs someone who is patient with her and will help her to be more trusting. 🐶
