AUGUST IS CHILDREN'S VISION & LEARNING MONTH!

Children who grow up with undiagnosed vision problems are often unaware that what they see is abnormal, and that means they don't know to ask for help. The yearly Vision & Learning Month campaign encourages parents to take their children in for a comprehensive vision exam every year.

Many signs, symptoms, and behaviors associated with learning disabilities are similar to those caused by vision problems. These challenges should be brought to the attention of a Developmental Optometrist to detect whether learning-related vision problems are present.

Dr. Tyler Tinsley is keeping her patients' and staffs' eyes safe during the Total Solar Eclipse today April 8, 2024 at InSight Eyecare + Eyewear in Poplar Bluff, MO. She says to "take these precautions: 1. Educate children, family, and friends about the dangers of looking directly at the sun. 2. Wear the proper ISO eye protection."

For now, we recommend discontinuing all generic eye drops. Name brands such as Systane, Refresh, Retaine, Blink, Soothe, or Biotrue are all safe to use.

People who use eyedrops once again need to check whether their drops are on a newly issued recall list from the FDA.
