🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we’re proud to go PINK all month long! 🎀

👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ This week, we welcomed junior high and high school students from the Boys & Girls Club of the Heartland with a special behind-the-scenes tour of Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center!

Students had the opportunity to explore various areas of the hospital and learn about a range of healthcare roles that keep our hospital running smoothly every day. From nursing and surgery to lab, imaging, and beyond, they got a closer look at what it’s like to be part of a hospital team.

🌸 Exciting News for Moms & Families 🌸

We’re proud to celebrate two of our nurses, Heather Joiner, RN (pictured left), and Jenn Millner, RN (pictured right), who have advanced their training to earn the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C). This nationally recognized certification equips staff with the knowledge and skills to better support moms, dads, and families experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. 💙

With this specialized training, our upcoming postpartum support and classes will provide even greater care, understanding, and resources to help families thrive during the perinatal period.

Each month, our team at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center chooses a local nonprofit to support through our Jeans for a Cause initiative, where employees donate in exchange for wearing jeans to work on Fridays!

In August, we were proud to support the Kiwanis Club - Poplar Bluff MO, an organization dedicated to giving back to the community through contributions and taking care of Kiwanis Bacon Memorial Park. We’re honored to give back to an organization making such a positive impact in the lives of local children and families.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to honor the lives of babies gone too soon and to support the families who carry their memory.

PBRMC's Leaves of Hope Bereavement Program will host a Lantern Ceremony on Tuesday, October 15th. This event provides an opportunity for families and community members to come together in remembrance, reflection, and support.

🧦 Our Wound Care team joined the White Sock Campaign in honor of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Awareness Month!

PAD affects blood flow to the legs and feet and can lead to serious health complications if left untreated. The simple act of wearing white socks helps start conversations and raise awareness about this condition.
