The first meeting of the year will be Thursday, January 23rd, 1PM at First United Methodist Church. Shirley Pearman will be presenting a program on the Heck-Adams-Henson Murders in 1905 in Ten Mile Creek Homesteads. L.M. Henson was charged in these murders.
After the program, a business meeting will be held.
The public is invited to attend our meetings.

Letting all the genealogy people know about a genealogy workshop at the public library on March 23, a Saturday. Cost is $ 20 dollars. The state DAR genealogist is doing it. Suppose to be really good. Lots of good handouts. Box lunch. Starts at 9:00, then lunch, then afternoon session. It is a workshop for everyone. Call Poplar Bluff Library for more info and registration.

The Butler County Genealogical Society will kick off 2024 with an exciting and informative presentation by Katie Wylie Ray. It will be held on Thursday, January 25th, in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church, 5th and Main, Poplar Bluff. She will be presenting a virtual cemetery tour of Poplar Bluff's characters, pioneers, leaders and heroes! The program will be approximately 1 hour long and will begin at 1pm. All are invited to attend Katie's program!!!

The business meeting of the society will follow the program.

Our monthly genealogy meeting will be this Thursday, August 24, at 1pm in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church, 5th and Main Streets. Our President, Paula Allen, announced that the speaker will be the State Rep from District 150 who is Cameron Bunting Parker. She is going to discuss being a female running for office for the first time and her first days in the legislature.
