We are happy to announce that Poplarville Fire Department was recently graded a Class 5 by the Mississippi State Rating Bureau. The rating is based on the overall performance of the fire department, annual firefighter training requirements, equipment and maintenance, fire prevention, public outreach, city water infrastructure, and dispatch capabilities. Since 2020, we have improved from a class 7 to now a class 5. This was possible by improving in all of these categories. This would not have been possible without the work and dedication of the the firefighters, the commitment of the mayor and board of aldermen to improve public safety in the city, public works for the improvements to the water system, and the support of our citizens. Thank you all for continuing to strive for a better Poplarville.

Jason Bannister
Fire Chief.

These factors create a high risk for wildfires. Please avoid outdoor burning and any activities that could spark a fire. Fires can spread rapidly in these conditions and become uncontrollable.
