A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for our area from 2PM Monday 9/15/25 until 2PM Tuesday 9/16/25. A Coast Flood Watch is in effect from 2PM Tuesday 9/16/25 until 2AM Wednesday 9/17/25. For the Coast Flood Advisory up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. For the Coastal Flood Watch, one to two feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. High tide times for Messick for this period are forecasted for 4:29PM on Monday, and 4:59AM and 5:47PM on Tuesday.
Southeast Virginia is also expected to see 1-3+" of rain from Monday afternoon through Wednesday night. Storm parking will be available beginning at 8AM on Tuesday at South Lawson Park (hard surface only, please do not park on the grass) and City Hall. Please do not park at the new Public Safety Building. These areas will be designated as storm parking until Wednesday at noon.
