March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month!

It’s a time to celebrate individuals with developmental disabilities, raise awareness, and advocate for a more inclusive community.

At The Arc of Washington State, we remain committed to building an equitable and inclusive society where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can fully participate in every aspect of community life.

Throughout this month, we will be highlighting the important contributions individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities bring to our communities, the importance of inclusion, and opportunities for advocacy.

To start the month, we’re sharing a blog post from The Arc of the United States, “Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month: Shattering Stigmas & Obstacles.” https://thearc.org/blog/developmental-disabilities-awareness-month-shattering-stigmas-obstacles

Follow along as we share resources, history, stories, and ways you can get involved.

We need to advocate together to tell the Gov not to make cuts to funding supporting our loved ones and their support teams.

The assumption is that families will absorb cuts and save the state money, but it is at best a false promise. | Opinion
