Need a last-minute school sports physical? We’re offering a one-day Sports Physical Clinic for all K-12 and college students on Saturday, August 16 at our Eastside Health Center at 1026 E. 1st Street, Port Angeles. The clinic is open to anyone for a $100 flat fee, however, NOHN recommends scheduling a sports physical as part of an annual Well Child Check with your primary care provider (P*P) whenever possible, as this option is covered by most insurances once a year.

How to schedule: Call (360) 452-7891 x3002, x2822, or x2831 and ask to schedule a sports physical. Appointments are limited, so early scheduling is encouraged.

The clinic is subject to cancellation if the minimum demand is not met by Thursday, August 14. Scheduled patients will be notified if this occurs.

This week is National Health Center Week, an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the important work of the nation’s largest primary care network: Community Health Centers (CHCs) like NOHN. With 1,500 CHCs serving more than 30 million patients across nearly 15,000 communities, health centers bring quality care where it's needed most, serving everyone regardless of their ability to pay.

This week is also a chance for us to acknowledge an approaching milestone – the 10-year anniversary of our transformation into a Federally Qualified Health Center on September 1. Over the last decade, NOHN has grown responsively to community needs – adding new providers and expanding services to include behavioral health, family dentistry, mobile health, vision, and pharmacy.

CEO Michael Maxwell, MD recently visited with KONP's Todd Ortloff about these topics: https://youtu.be/TgyA2q0XNms

We're proud to partner with WSU Clallam County Extension on their Little Free Pantry (LFP) Network program providing free, non-perishable food items 24/7 to anyone in the community. Our Downtown Health Center (240 W. Front Street, Port Angeles) is home to the network's newest site. We also launched an LFP last year at our Eastside Health Center (1026 E. 1st Street, Port Angeles).

Pending legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives puts thousands of local patients at risk of losing their Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage and threatens to undermine NOHN's ability to serve our community. If you support the work we do and care about protecting healthcare coverage for lower-income and underserved populations, we encourage you to share your concerns about the “One Big Beautiful Bill” with Rep. Emily Randall and urge her to VOTE NO. Acting quickly is essential, as the House is expected to vote this week. Thank you.
