As fall sports ramp up, it's important that if you have a student-athlete or support one, to understand the importance of injury prevention. Here are some tips you can share:

Rest
Make sure you're adding rest days to the schedule. Letting the body heal is important to having the energy to perform in future practices and games.

Wear the Right Gear
Gear doesn't only affect how your athlete plays, it also helps protect them and others from injury. Gear that is the wrong size or in poor condition can actually contribute to injuries.

Stay Hydrated Whether a sports drink or plain water, drinking enough fluids is important before, during and after games to avoid dehydration.

Warm Up
Warming up and stretching the body before practice or a game will help prevent injuries.

Listen to Your Body
If you are in pain or feel ill, stop, rest and address the issue before continuing. Learn more about ways to prevent sports injuries this sports season.
