May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

One of the drawbacks to 21st Century living is the way we've separated the mind from the body.

Maybe you're not yet overwhelmed by your fishing season, but there's gear work, boat work, plenty to run you ragged.

If you've got seaweed coming out of the water, you're likely sore. If you're getting an oyster farm up off the bottom and ready for the season, you're likely sore.

Be sure to take some time to care for your body which is, despite our best efforts not to admit it, connected to your mind. They are not separate. They are one and the same. So recovery for the body can support recovery for your mind.

RECOVERY? You ask...
A long hot shower and some clean clothes after work.
Hydration all day.
A massage gun or hard rubber ball can be a great tool to roll out your feet, your shoulders, your butt.
A good meal (with all the food groups).
Plenty of sleep.

Recovery = Longevity. Don’t wait to feel wrecked to take care of yourself.

Hey Friends - been missing my newsletter? I've moved house, as it were, and would be happy to have you join me as 2025 begins. For your trouble - I've included a 4 minute video of some yoga poses you can weave into your workday on the water. Or, on land.

Watch this 4 minute video for ideas to add some super simple stretches to your day on the water. Add a couple to your daily routine: between hauls, before, or after, a day on the farm, or between tides.
