The first annual Souper Bowl winner is...
Jim for his chili and cheddar broccoli soups
2nd place went to Jennifer for her chicken noodle soup
3rd place went to Rhoda for her chicken wild rice and seafood gumbo soups
We had a lot of fun, and everyone has a full belly all while donating to a good cause!

Today is Edgewater's first annual Souper Bowl. The competition is HOT and the awards are prestigious!

The Souper Bowl winner will get the Souper Bowl trophy "The Bowlardi" and all donated canned or non-perishable foods will be donated to the FOCUS food pantry. Stayed tuned for announcement of the winners!

Wood County Human Services invites you to congratulate our very first CNA course graduates!

The CNA course was a 4 week, 120 hour course held at Edgewater Haven that began mid-April and wrapped up today with a graduation ceremony.

We are very proud of our first students to have complete the course, along with the nursing team at Edgewater and the team at FSET that made this course a possibility.

Congratulations again on completing the CNA course!

Road construction is set to begin on Monday, April 15th, 2024 on Highway 73/54. Visitors, staff and vendors will still be able to access Wood County Edgewater Haven.

WIS 54 and WIS 73 will be closed to thru traffic from Port Road to Seneca Road. Local access will be allowed however brief roadway and driveway closures may be necessary to accommodate construction operations.

Please see the maps below for alternate route to Edgewater.

Alternate route from Nekoosa: head north on Port Road. Turn east on Ver Bunker Avenue. Turn north on 3rd or 4th Street to access Edgewater's side entrance off Harrison Avenue.

Alternate route from Wisconsin Rapids: head west on Seneca Road. Turn south on Port Road. Turn east on Ver Bunker Avenue. Turn north on 3rd or 4th Street to access Edgewater's side entrance off Harrison Avenue.

Residents and staff had a furry visitor today at Wood County Edgewater Haven! We enjoyed our visit from Lieutenant Susanna Wagner and Lola the Wood County Sheriff Therapy K9 very much! Thank you for bringing her to visit Lieutenant Wagner!

On February 5, 2024, Edgewater Wood County Edgewater Haven had the opportunity to host Senator Patrick Testin for a behind-the-scenes look at the daily activities of our senior care community.

Senator Testin engaged in a variety of activities throughout the facility. From working in the kitchen, assisting with maintenance duties, to interacting with CNAs and licensed nursing staff, the Senator was able to experience firsthand, the various roles and responsibilities of the dedicated staff who serve their residents every day.

In addition, Senator Testin had the opportunity to interview Justin, NHA as part of the Senator’s “Day on the Job” series. The Senator gained insights into the exceptional care and services provided at Edgewater Haven and learned about the challenges faced particularly around workforce dynamics.

Wood County Edgewater Haven thanks Senator Testin for highlighting our facility in his February on-the-job segment and we are grateful for his continued support of the long-term care provider community.

Earlier this week our residents went on a bus trip to a special place... Beaver's The Dime Store! They had a great time! Owners, Warren & Joyce Beaver and staff were so welcoming and helpful. The residents enjoyed themselves so much. They enjoyed the variety of items to look at and buy, and are looking forward to more shopping trips to Beaver’s in the future!
