Empowering individuals, families, and communities in the pursuit of wellness.

Madre Bay Consulting & Psychological Services, PLLC (MBCPS) has provided mental health consulting, education, assessment, psychotherapy, and counseling services in the Rio Grande Valley since late 2016. Owner, Dr. Marsha Sargeant has continued her mission to improve access to quality mental health services in our region through partnerships with other organizations and providers, and emphasizes the critical need for providing training in culturally-competent, evidence-based training to Veterans who seek care in the community.

Evidence-based care remains a priority to our practice and necessitates collaboration with other health providers to provide gold-standard treatment for mental health problems, which often requires both therapy and medications. Therefore, we are pleased to collaborate with a local psychiatrist and nurse practitioner to provide timely referrals for adjunct medication management services. We are also pleased to have US Army Veteran, Ms. Maria Barrera, MS, CRC on board as she completes her clinical psychology doctoral practicum under the supervision of Dr. Sargeant. Ms. Barrera brings with her over a decade of experience as a rehabilitation counselor, which greatly enriches the quality of service she provides as a trainee.
