🧠👂 New Study Alert: Treat Hearing Loss Early — It Could Slash Dementia Risk by 61%
A recent analysis published in JAMA Neurology (August 18, 2025) reveals a powerful insight: adults under age 70 with hearing loss who start using hearing aids have a 61% lower risk of developing dementia over the next 20 years, compared with those who leave their hearing loss untreated. Meanwhile, individuals under 70 with no hearing loss had a 29% lower risk than those with untreated hearing loss. These benefits were not observed in participants aged 70 or older at diagnosis. Early intervention matters—and it matters a lot.

If you or someone you know is experiencing hearing loss, don’t wait. Treating it early can improve communication and may protect brain health in the long run.
