Maryhaven creates welcoming environments where people with special needs may reach their highest potential and enjoy a life full of dignity, purpose, and inclusion. Maryhaven’s Residential Programs are family-like group homes and apartment-style communities where adults with special needs can live an independent, purposeful life with support. In addition to providing housing, we support attaining the highest quality of life and personal growth by offering life skills and job training opportunities through our Day Habilitation, Vocational Training, and Supportive Work Programs.

As we celebrate the Festival of Lights, we honor the spirit of hope, resilience, and community. At Maryhaven, we are grateful for the people we support, their families, our dedicated staff, and our community partners, all of whom help us create a welcoming environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and included.

This Hanukkah, your generosity lights the way for compassionate care across our residential, day habilitation, and vocational programs. Together, we help individuals grow, explore their potential, and enjoy lives filled with purpose, respect, and meaningful connections.

We also celebrate our extraordinary staff, whose dedication and passion bring warmth and encouragement to every person we support, fostering an environment where everyone can flourish.

Last night was a blast as our Wellness Coordinator, Kristie Panuccio teamed up with the Recreational Coordinator, Megan Ferrando for an unforgettable circuit training session! This is something that is offered for our staff through our Wellness program and now was modified for our individuals.💪✨ A huge shoutout to everyone who joined us – your energy made it so much fun! 🎉

Together, we transformed a regular evening into a fantastic opportunity for our individuals to learn new activities and stay active. It’s amazing what happens when teamwork meets creativity! 🙌

Taylor Cipolla Smith has been honored with the December Living the Mission Award for her outstanding contributions as a Community Integration Specialist. She works with the Community-Based Prevocational program, specifically with their maintenance crew, exemplifying dedication to Maryhaven's mission every day. Recently, her efforts in establishing a partnership with Marriott Courtyard have further highlighted her commitment. Thank you to everyone who joined us for Maryhaven’s Heart of the Harvest Cocktail Reception. We’re still smiling thinking about the live music, delicious food, and the incredible company we shared.

One of the most memorable moments of the night was Kelly Thomas’ inspiring speech. As President of Maryhaven’s Self-Advocacy Committee, Kelly empowers others to speak up, chase their goals, and celebrate their strengths — a reminder of the true impact your support makes.

We want to give a heartfelt shout-out to the staff and individuals who traveled to Albany on Tuesday, November 18th, to take part in the rally advocating for increased investment in the individuals we support. Their presence, their voices, and their energy made a powerful statement.

Our Story

Maryhaven is a nonprofit, Long Island based agency committed to helping persons with special needs including intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and/or substance abuse/dependence issues realize their full potential, without regard to age, race and/or religious beliefs. The agency’s purpose is to establish, maintain and operate progressive programs and services which are residential, educational, vocational and rehabilitative in nature. The ideal goal is the attainment of normalization, in all aspects of life, for each individual in our care.
