The holidays can bring up stress, old patterns, and emotional triggers—especially around family and expectations. If you’re already feeling it, you’re not alone.

One way to walk into the season with more calm and control is through EMDR intensives.
By doing deeper work in a focused block of time, you can:

• Clear out the roots of triggers
• Calm your nervous system
• Feel more grounded and present
• Navigate holiday stress with more choice instead of reactivity

If you want this season to feel lighter and less overwhelming, an EMDR intensive can make a meaningful difference.

Curious if it’s a good fit? I’m here to chat.

The holidays can bring joy and connection—but they can also stir up old wounds, overwhelm, and emotional triggers that feel harder to manage this time of year.
If you notice yourself feeling on edge, shutting down, or slipping into old patterns around family gatherings, stress, or memories… you’re not alone.

One of the most effective ways to prepare for this season is to work intensively with EMDR before the holidays fully hit.

✨ Why EMDR Intensives Help During the Holidays:
• Fewer triggers, more presence. Intensives allow us to move through unresolved memories and body-held stress in a focused, uninterrupted way—helping you feel more grounded during stressful interactions.
• Faster relief than weekly sessions. Instead of spreading work out over months, an intensive gives your nervous system the time and space to shift deeply in a shorter window.
• Better emotional regulation. EMDR helps calm the brain’s alarm system, allowing you to respond with choice instead of reactivity.
• A stronger sense of control. With less emotional noise, you can set boundaries, navigate family dynamics, and prioritize your well-being more confidently.
• Breaking old patterns. When you heal the root causes—not just the symptoms—you show up differently, in ways that feel healthier and more authentic.

If you want this holiday season to feel lighter, calmer, and less dominated by old triggers, EMDR intensives can be a powerful way to create that shift.

If you’re curious whether an intensive is right for you, I’m happy to answer questions or explore what your goals might look like.
You deserve a holiday that feels peaceful—not overwhelming.

Healing doesn’t mean forgetting – it means meeting yourself where you are. In “How EMDR Helped Me Become More Peaceful With My Past But Left Me With Me in the Present,” Chelsea Branch explores how EMDR therapy became the bridge between what happened then and how she lives now.

If you’ve ever found yourself stuck in cycles of worry, shame, or numbness—thinking you’re living for the past instead of in the present—I hope this piece resonates.

Because true change isn’t just about coping differently—it’s about reconnecting with who you are at your core.
Read, reflect, and remember: healing is possible, and you don’t have to walk the journey alone.

Or EDMR, as I kept calling it, perhaps I was getting confused with the Electronic Dance Music Raves I tried on like a new outfit in my early twenties...

You may have heard of EMDR therapy—but did you know there’s an updated version called EMDR 2.0?

EMDR 2.0 builds on the same foundation as traditional EMDR, but it’s designed to help your brain process distressing memories even more efficiently. Sessions often move faster and can feel more engaging, using brief, targeted techniques to reduce emotional intensity and rewire old patterns.

I’ve completed introductory training in EMDR 2.0 and thoughtfully incorporate these strategies into sessions when it’s a good fit for the client and their goals.

If you’ve ever felt “stuck” or like therapy wasn’t getting deep enough, EMDR 2.0 may be a helpful next step. Reach out for a free consultation 631-364-7758.

Did you know that trauma doesn’t always show up as one big event?

Many people carry “everyday” traumas (or little t traumas)—like feeling unsafe in relationships, being criticized as a child, or constantly feeling on edge. Over time, these experiences can leave you anxious, stuck, or disconnected.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy helps the brain reprocess those memories so they no longer hold the same power. Instead of just managing symptoms with coping skills, EMDR works at the root, creating real and lasting change.

If you’ve been feeling weighed down by the past and are ready to move forward with more peace and confidence, I’d love to talk with you.

Tired of Just Managing Symptoms? Let’s Talk About Real Healing.

Anxiety. Overwhelm. That constant feeling of being on edge or not good enough.
Most of us are taught to cope — deep breathing, distraction, positive thinking. And while those tools can help in the moment, they don’t get to the root of what’s really going on.

EMDR therapy is different.
It helps you process and heal the unresolved experiences that are actually driving your symptoms — so you don’t have to keep white-knuckling your way through life.

When you heal the root, you don't need to constantly manage the symptoms.
You feel more peace, more clarity, and more like yourself.

✨ When You Heal, Your Relationships Change—And That’s Okay✨

Healing isn’t just about feeling better—it’s about becoming the version of yourself who no longer tolerates what once hurt you. As you grow, you may notice shifts in your relationships. Some will deepen, others may become strained, and a few might fade away altogether.

It’s normal. And it doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.

Setting boundaries is an essential part of this process. If you’re feeling guilty or uncertain about how to do this, here are a few gentle ways to navigate the changes:

🔹 Communicate with kindness – You don’t have to justify your healing, but you can express your needs with honesty and care. Example: “I know we’ve always handled things this way, but I need to do what feels right for me now.”

🔹 Release the fear of disappointing others – Not everyone will understand your growth, and that’s okay. Your job isn’t to make others comfortable at the expense of your well-being.

🔹 Give yourself permission to say no – A simple “I can’t commit to that right now” is enough. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.

🔹 Surround yourself with those who respect your journey – The right people will celebrate your healing, not resist it.

Healing doesn’t mean losing love—it means making space for healthier, more authentic connections. 💛

If you’re struggling with boundaries or navigating relationship shifts, EMDR therapy can help. Message me to learn more about how we can work together.
