St. Charles Hospital was honored to have received the “Partner in Excellence” award from the People’s Arc of Suffolk County. We are so lucky to have some of the most loving and dedicated volunteers from People’s Arc who help prepare pre-op patient bags, with such care. Our volunteers come to St. Charles with smiles on their faces and they certainly put smiles on ours!

We were excited yesterday to host a celebratory ribbon-cutting for the expansion of St. Charles’ Stephen B. Gold Dental Clinic!

We are extremely grateful to the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation for an $800,000 grant allowing us to add four additional dental operatories and more waiting room space. In addition, we were able to hire a fourth dental resident this past July and will be able to hire two additional dental residents over the next two years.

Under Dr. Keri Logan‘s leadership and the leadership of the many volunteer community dentists who supervise the dental residents, we look forward to offering even more comprehensive dental care for undeserved adults, and children, including our veterans.

Meet Paul, a three time stroke survivor, who is the first patient at St. Charles Hospital to have the Vivistim neurostimulation device implanted, in the hope that it will improve his arm and hand function. The surgery was performed by neurosurgeon Dr. Bailey Zampella. At a post op office visit, Paul was all smiles and shared how grateful he was to Dr. Zampella and her team. Paul will be doing outpatient rehabilitation at one of Catholic Health Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation locations in Patchogue. He looks forward to regaining function, improving his quality of life! We are cheering you on, Paul!
