Xolair Injection: Dr. Theodoris and Dr. Glaser, specialize in treating asthma with Xolair injections. Xolair is an antibody that interferes with allergic inflammation of asthma. As a result, airway swelling in the lung is decreased and airflow improves. The lungs also benefit long-term by becoming less “hyper responsive” to allergens. Thus, Xolair decreases the incidence and severity of asthma attacks, and may also improve lung function over time. Bronchoscopy: Bronchoscopy is an operative technique of visualizing the inside of the airways (bronchi and trachea) for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. This procedure is performed in the operating room under conscious sedation administered by an anesthesiologist and normally occurs on an ambulatory (same-day) basis. Critical Care: Suffolk Pulmonary Associates & Suffolk Critical Care Associates provides a full spectrum of critical care services at two state-of-the-art intensive care units, including invasive hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation and support. Pulmonary rehabilitation is an important component of chronic pulmonary diseases, including COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and pulmonary fibrosis. We have affiliations with advanced pulmonary rehabilitation centers staffed by experienced physical and respiratory therapists that offer comprehensive therapy on modern equipment. Sleep Medicine: We treat all sleep disorders, including hypersomnias, obstructive sleep apnea, parasomnias, shiftwork sleep disorder, narcolepsy, and snoring.
