Insurance makes lactation care accessible but also confusing. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) "mandates that most insurance plans cover breastfeeding support, counseling, and equipment, including breast pumps, without requiring cost-sharing. This includes prenatal and postnatal support, counseling, and the rental or purchase of breast pumps. The goal is to make breastfeeding more accessible and affordable for new mothers." Insurance companies try to skirt this and sometimes make getting that mandated coverage difficult and time consuming.
I am dedicated to help you utilize the benefits that you deserve so that you receive the support you need.
I work with several insurance billing options in order to tap into your benefits.
The graphic above list the potential plans that I am currently able to work with. Not all plans within these companies cover lactation benefits.
One way to determine your coverage/reimbursment is to call your company and ask if they cover s9443 DxZ39.1. If they tell you that they only cover "in-network consultants" ask them to give you a list in your area for in person care. Many times they are unable to do so. You can then ask for a gap exception. This may require you to fill out a form and provide information to them. I will provide the information that you need.
Admittedly, this is an exhausting process. I recommend that you look into coverage while you are still pregnant. This gives you a plan and resources for support when/if you need it. Reach out to me for links to check your benefits. . .
