What a truly special Veterans Day we shared, celebrating and remembering the incredible men and women who have served our nation—both those with us and those watching over us. We started our day with a meaningful moment of reflection during our weekly Bible Trivia, focusing on the strength and faithfulness of Psalms 18:24.
Following our study, we shared a beautiful new tradition. Since real doves weren't possible, we got biodegradable dove balloons 🕊️. We inscribed them with the names of all our veterans, as well as those known through family and friends, to equally share and honor their memories. We gathered in the courtyard, offered a prayer, and then released the balloons together—a truly moving sight!
The afternoon was filled with fun and patriotic cheer!
• 🧠 Brain Games: We enjoyed entertaining word searches.
• 🎨 Craft & Treats: We created a special thank-you flag craft while enjoying delicious patriotic ice cream! 🍨
• 🥳 Fun & Games: We wrapped up our activities with some patriotic face painting!

A Heartfelt Ceremony 🎖️
Our celebration continued with a special ceremony, organized with the wonderful support of Halifax. A huge thank you to Kristen, a dear friend from Hospice, and Bob Howard, a veteran himself, for joining us and sharing their time. We also appreciated their Chaplain, Woody, who handed out well-deserved certificates and pins to our veterans.

Now boarding Flight ✈️ 1321!!! We took off to Poland 🇵🇱 and enjoyed lunch with traditional Polish music 🎶 and cuisine, featuring perogies with bacon and onion. Later, we had "Kolachki Cookies," which were easy to enjoy despite their difficulty pronunciation. Everyone had an excellent time participating in crossword games, learning Polish vocabulary, and mastering a traditional craft dating back to the 1800s. We created our own versions of Bolesławiec pottery, also known as Polish pottery, characterized by vibrant colors and intricate designs. For safety, we used paper plates instead. We are all excited to see what next destination is in store. ✈️

Jordan is always on the sidelines cheering for her son in football and her daughter in cheerleading. Her caring nature led her to pursue a career in this field.
