Golden Plank Yoga is a place for both movement and stillness. I practice yoga because it reminds me to seek balance, balance between work and play, training and recovery, movement and stillness. Yoga helps me keep my muscles and joints strong and flexible to enjoy an active lifestyle. I teach yoga to share this with others. Through our practice together at Golden Plank Yoga, we will seek balance in not only our physical bodies but in our minds and lives as well. I love to learn, and strive to teach and share from my own personal journey. As a competitive athlete, I spent years overtraining before being introduced to yoga. Since learning how to better practice self care, I have invested in over 200 hours of training and continue my own practice at other studios, workshops and festivals. ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE YOU TO YOUR BODY. Yoga Basics This class focuses on the foundations of yoga while building strength, improving flexibility, and challenging balance in a comfortable learning environment. Here you will find an atmosphere geared towards beginners with little or no yoga experience or experienced yogis recovering from injury. You will gain awareness of the breath and your body while practicing proper alignment. This basics class offers an opportunity to reconnect with your body while learning the movement and language of yoga. Vinyasa Expect to be challenged in this fun and dynamic class sequenced around sun salutations. Move with your breath through creative sequences while building strength and increasing flexibility. This class will give you an opportunity to sweat and re-connect with your breath and body. (Prior yoga experience or general fitness is encouraged) Restorative Yoga Restorative yoga uses blankets, bolsters, straps, and blocks to totally support the body. This allows the muscles to fully relax, the brain to quiet, and the spirit to experience peace and restoration. In this class, poses are held for longer periods of time in order to stretch and lengthen muscles and underlying connective tissue. Restorative yoga is an excellent complement to our busy lives and our more active workouts. 90 minute class appropriate for all levels.
