🎄 Grinch Saga, episode 5 💚:

🖍️ Even the Grinch can't resist spreading cheer! From joining activities with our residents to snapping a festive photo with Santa at our open house, hearts grew three sizes today! 🎅

🎄 Grinch Saga, episode 4 💚:
Grinch has wrapped up his first few days at LCCPO, and rehab is off to a great start! 😄

✅ Dietitian: evaluated Grinch and reviewed nutrition needs for recovery, meal plans, and special diet orders.
✅ Dietary Manager: evaluated Grinch for food preferences to support good appetite and consider all medical, cultural, and personal needs.
✅ Physical Therapy: Grinch is currently non-weight bearing and was assessed for wheelchair mobility that included education on limitations and safe wheelchair use. Healing is in progress, and Grinch is so proud to be one step stronger already.

🎄 In collaboration with the South Kitsap Chamber of Commerce Community, Life Care Center of Port Orchard hosted its Holiday Open House and ribbon-cutting ceremony. ✂️ Members of the Chamber, City Council, local hospitals and assisted livings were in attendance.

We were so proud to show off our facility-wide newly renovated flooring. 😊 Facility tours and pictures with Santa were among the festive fun. 🎅 Thank you to all community members who made this event happen. We're excited for our bright future at our beautiful, newly renovated facility! 🌟

🎄 Admission Day... Grinch Saga, episode 3 💚:

Grinch has arrived at Life Care Center of Port Orchard via ambulance 🚑, and care is provided without delay. The nursing team promptly starts assessing vital signs/measurements 🩺, physical presentation, pain/comfort, and any safety concerns.

👩‍⚕️ MDS nurse performs an assessment to get information to insurance in a timely manner so Grinch's Who-Mana will cover services he will receive.

Admission is a busy day, and the Life Care team works diligently to make sure the transfer from St. Who's is seamless. 👍

"With every warm greeting from each care staff bedside, The Grinch felt a tingle of Triumph inside. At Life Care Center, with patience and cheer, He found healing and hope for the coming new year." 🌟

💚 Behind the Scenes... Grinch Saga episode 2 🎄

Life Care of Port Orchard is busy working on all of the pre-admission processes, to make sure that Grinch has a smooth transition from the hospital.
✅ Admissions: authorization and collaboration hospital case managers for plan-of-care details
✅ Business Office: researching insurance for a financial review
✅ Nursing: Reviewing clinical documentation to make sure facility can safely manage care
✅ Bed availability: room is admit-ready with all required medical equipment

Until then, we wait with a sigh and a grin... for the Grinch to arrive so the care can begin! 🙂

💚 High on a branch that was skinny and thin, the Grinch perched and plotted with a grin. A crackle! A snap! The limb said "I'm done!" He fell through the air in a twisty green spin. He crashed with a compound fracture of the shin.

It appears that the Grinch is in need of some short-term rehabilitation, and Life Care of Port Orchard was his first choice! 💪 The Whoville EMTs have taken Grinch to St. Who's Hospital, where he requires a 3-night stay to admit to Life Care. 🏥 Tune in to follow Grinch recover from his mischief and mishaps!
