🚧 BIG things are happening at HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital! A massive crane has arrived on the north side of our campus, marking the start of construction on our new parking garage️.

In just a few months, we’ll be adding hundreds of new parking spaces, making it easier than ever for you to access care from our incredible team or visit loved ones. This project is perfectly timed with the upcoming North Tower expansion, opening this winter with:

- New Labor & Delivery rooms
- A brand-new NICU
- Expanded surgical services

🔍 Fun Fact: The garage will be built using more than 860 giant precast concrete pieces — like massive Legos! The first pillars are already in place, forming the future elevator shaft.

Construction won’t impact current hospital access. We’re always here for your family, 24/7: https://bit.ly/3GOGmph.

This , we’re celebrating the incredible care teams at our hospital who made a lasting impact on Suzanne, a patient who came to our ER with an irregular heartbeat.

Suzanne gave a heartfelt shoutout to Nick, a nurse in our cardiac cath lab, for his compassion and calming presence. “He found we both had connections to Hollywood and as we talked, he totally took my mind off what we needed to do. Nick’s compassion and tenderness made something potentially tough so easy,” she shared.

As a talented home baker, Suzanne expressed her gratitude in the most heartwarming way — by delivering handwritten thank you notes and dozens of cookies to her physician and the amazing nurses and support staff on our Surgical Progressive Care Unit. Thanks, team, for making our hospital the sweetest place to heal!🍪

One in eight people, and one in six children, in North Florida live in households that may be food insecure, which means not having enough nutritious food to have an active, healthy life.

At HCA Florida Healthcare we care committed to to fighting food insecurity. Recently, HCA Florida Capital Hospital presented a $15,000 donation to Second Harvest of the Big Bend to help provide food to families experiencing hunger, bringing the total to $23,000 since 2023.

The financial support is part of a broader effort that has included more than 250 colleagues from HCA Florida Healthcare volunteering at the Second Harvest of the Big Bend over the past two years to help sort and pack food donations.

“We’re honored to support Second Harvest with a financial gift, as well as the service of our dedicated volunteers throughout the year,” said Dale Neely, chief executive officer, HCA Florida Capital Hospital.

For this week's , we're so proud to share Rebecca and Colton's story. In a quiet moment near the elevators, Colton strummed his guitar in a moving tribute to the care team that helped welcome his newborn son into the world. His song wasn’t just music — it was a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff who stood by their side through every step of their birth journey. 💙

From their first birthing class to the final moments of labor, the couple felt supported, prepared and cared for. “It’s one of those songs about just being there for people,” he said. “It felt right because the nurses were there for us.”

07/10/2025

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a condition in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the arms or legs. It’s easy to mistake PAD for other conditions like hip arthritis or spinal stenosis, which means often goes undiagnosed. Many people with PAD don’t experience symptoms at all. That’s why awareness of risk factors – such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and smoking – is crucial for screening.

Understanding the early warning signs is the first step toward timely intervention and better quality of life. In most cases, lifestyle changes, exercise and medications are enough to slow the progression or even reverse the symptoms of PAD, so talk to your doctor if you think you may be at risk.

Bob, an Air Force veteran, knows it's the people who make an organization truly shine, and he wanted to say thank you to our team, especially those caring for him in our Surgical Progressive Care Unit.

"I've been in a lot of hospitals, and here, they're friendly, just really nice people. From the doctors to the housekeepers, everyone who's come through the door has been great. I've been talking with all of them, and some of the nurses have been here for 40 years. That says a lot about them. They're good at what they do and they love doing it. And it says a lot about what a special place this is. I'm very glad to have landed here for my care."

Thank you, Bob, for your kind words. 💙 At HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, and across the our greater HCA Healthcare network of care, we are proud to go above and beyond for our patients.

Small businesses play an important role as job creators and are a pillar in communities nationwide. More than 4 million small business owners purchase healthcare coverage on their own and rely on Enhanced Premium Tax Credits (EPTCs) to keep premiums affordable.

But unless Congress acts soon, these tax credits will expire at the end of 2025. Many small businesses may face increased costs or be forced to reduce or eliminate employee health coverage.
