“Your pharmacist forgot to charge my co-pay” She said… All of a sudden, I had a doubt…
Recently, a friend of mine called me to find out if we could fill one of her routine prescription as her chain pharmacy was experiencing a shortage for this particular medication, and she was about to run out of it. I looked our inventory, and we had more than enough to fill it, and that I will ask our pharmacist to get in touch with her.
She called me the next day, and started to tell me that both the technician and the pharmacist have been very helpful and pleasant during the all process. She then said: “your pharmacist forgot to charge my co-pay”, and explained that she had a co-pay for that medication for as long as she has been taking it. All of a sudden, I had a doubt and told her that I will check with the pharmacist.
We looked at this particular prescription, and from the adjudication screen her insurance covered the cost of the medication and the patient co-pay was $0.00, therefore we did not make any mistake.
Even if in this case, it was a friend, it is always a good feeling to know that our staff is very professional and we are doing the right thing by only charging what we have to, and not a cent more…
