William J. Vinyard, MD, FACS
In early November 2018, my new office location for the Vinyard Institute of Plastic Surgery (VIPS) will be opening in Port St. Lucie West, Florida👏👏👏. It has been a long but incredibly rewarding journey which is now culminating into a dream come true. My journey into plastic surgery began in Kansas City, where I was born and raised. I spent 3 years attending a community college in Kansas City, Missouri where a biology teacher guided me toward a surgical career. This was followed by an additional 3 years attending college in Lawrence, Kansas at the University of Kansas. My medical career began with attending 4 years of medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Once I had completed medical school and decided to pursue Plastic Surgery as a career, I began my next 8 year journey through surgical training 😷in 4 different specialties in 3 different states: General Surgery at the University of Kansas; Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California-Davis; Breast Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship and an Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship both with James Grotting, MD at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Since that time, I worked for 4 years at a hospital system in Guntersville, Alabama followed by 4 years in a group practice in Palm Beach, Florida as a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. After 18 years of education and training after high school😱, it is now time for me to take my training and skill set into my own solo practice 😷on the Treasure Coast of Florida 🌴in Port St. Lucie West. There have been so many people (mentors, educators, staff members, administrators, family, friends and patients) who have helped me get to where I am today and although they will never truly know what a positive impact they have had on my life, I hope they know that I am eternally grateful. 🙏
