I’m working closely with the Department of Agriculture and taking the little time I have to break down each individual product, what I use, where it comes from and how it’s made. I get annoyed and take breaks from the process but it has to be done if I want back in store (s). I’m free at my homestead but in retail settings the process is different. At the end of the day, it’s a money grab and I have to PAY to play. If it was about public health and public safety, I wouldn’t be able to go to any of the grocery stores right now and purchase “food” items that fuel cancer and sickness.
They want me to jump through all these hoops, they don’t want me to use homegrown herbs or herbs I forage myself. (Yeah right). They want me to be a repackager. They would rather hear I purchased and rebagged an herb off Amazon than I picked it from the mountains or from my backyard. Do you know how many herbs have been tested for insane amounts of lead and have been proven not to be the real thing messing with Amazon and their Chinese vendors?
Okay, this post wasn’t meant to be a rant. I get irritated but I understand it’s what I signed up when starting this work publicly. You don’t just disrupt a billion dollar industry and think it’s gonna be a walk in the park.
Despite it all, I’m feeling good. Hope to have this all resolved by the New Year. My spot is waiting for me at the Artisan Market and there are some other locations I’m welcome at as well. Anything meant for me will be there when I get this dang license. They are gonna tax the hell out of me though cause if it’s not one license, it’s another. Oh but wait! You need this too! Sigh.
Anyway, it’s a beautiful day. No worries.
