Our newest associate is Dr. Allegra Borghese. Initially, she will be seeing new patients in our Oyster Bay office on Tuesdays and via teletherapy for the rest of the week. Dr. Borghese's interest in psychology began after experiencing powerful insights in her own therapy. Feeling called to do this work for others, she has spent the past 15 years training in Eastern and Western philosophies of healing. She has studied yoga and mindfulness, obtained a Master's in Art Psychotherapy, and completed her doctorate in Psychology from Fordham University. Dr. Borghese has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults within individual, couples, and family counseling, where she uses psychodynamic and culturally sensitive tools to foster awareness and growth. She has trained in psychiatric hospitals, VA hospitals, addiction and eating disorder facilities, college counseling centers, and community clinics. Her research projects have investigated issues related to eating disorders, cultural identity, and trauma. Through a warm and committed therapeutic alliance, she is passionate about helping individuals connect to their innate resources for healing and meaning making, often prompted by life's challenges.
If you or someone you care about is seeking therapy, please don't hesitate to call or email us to set up a free consultation with Dr. Borghese.
