Full circle moment 💚

I had the honor of presenting at the 36th Annual Forum on Child Abuse and Neglect at Indiana University Northwest.. and it meant more than I can fully put into words.

Years ago, I sat in that same space as a new therapist, taking in information, trying to learn how to best support my clients.

This time… I stood at the front of the room.
Not just to teach...but to pour back into the very people doing the work every day.
Because the truth is…

We’re taught how to care for others.
But not always how to care for ourselves while doing it.So we talked about the real things:
✔️ Burnout
✔️ Compassion fatigue
✔️ Transference & countertransference

And more importantly..
🌿 We paused
🌿 We moved
🌿 We breathed
🌿 We grounded

Because you deserve support too.
This is what Resilient Mental Health & Wellness Solutions is all about. And this moment?
It reminded me that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be 💚

I had the honor of being a vendor at my daughter’s school cultural fair, representing Resilient Mental Health & Wellness Solutions.
We explored simple ways to support mental wellness through:
✔️Movement
✔️Breathwork
✔️Creative expression (rock painting

It was a joy connecting with families and creating space for kids to slow down, express themselves, and just be.

And having my daughter and bonus daughter there with me..that meant everything 💚

When people think of therapy, they often think about sitting in an office talking about their problems. And while talking is powerful, it’s not always the easiest or most comfortable path for everyone.

The truth is...healing has never only been about talking. For generations, our ancestors have used movement, sound, community, and creativity to heal and reconnect. And now, research is catching up.

That’s why I created my Beyond Talk event 💚
I’m so excited to share that this is our. Annual Event, in partnership with Paint the City .

Last year, we were featured on WGN Chicago Spotlight, and this year we’re bringing even more energy, creativity, and connection.

This event is for ALL ages—there’s truly something for everybody.

What to expect:
• Live painting + amazing community artists
• Sound + movement experiences
• Creative expression stations
• Pizza donated by Dimo’s (thank you!)
• Swag bags for attendees
• Good energy, good people, good vibes

I’ll be sharing more about the artists and experiences soon.

If you’ve ever felt like talking isn’t enough, or you’re just looking for something different, this space is for you.

I would love to see you there 💚
And if you can’t attend, you can still support by donating a ticket for someone who may need this experience.

This flower reminds me every year....

This little tulip has been showing up every year…like clock work, and every time I see her, I pause.Because no matter what the season looked like before
she still blooms.

And maybe that’s the reminder…
So will I.

Good times!💚❤️💚

I wasn't just about to host workshops at Navy Pier and leave!!!

I stayed and PLAYED! I saw this Double Dutch workshop and had to jump in, literally!

I hadn't jumped Double Dutch in decades. This was pure nostalgia, a childhood staple and rite of passage on my block. My cousins and I stayed with a clothesline...lol

Who played Double Dutch? Who was double-handed? Who needed the single rope?🤣🤣🤣🤣

Late post: I had the opportunity to facilitate a Lunch & Learn about burnout with IU Northwest medical students.

Not just talking about burnout, but practicing how to regulate it through somatic movement + breath.

Shoutout to our future doctors for being open to learning how to take care of themselves too 🩺

Hey friends!!!Navy Pier will be hosting a full week of Spring Break programming for children and families in Chicago and it’s such an exciting lineup of free activities, creativity, movement, and wellness experiences. The events run Monday, March 23rd through Friday, March 27th.

I’m honored to share that I’ve been selected to be a part of it as a workshop facilitator. As someone who grew up in Chicago and has so many memories at Navy Pier, being able to return in this capacity, representing my own practice is truly a full-circle moment.

I’ll be leading two experiences focused on mental wellness, movement, and self-regulation for children and families:

Magical Moves & Soothing Sounds
📅 Wednesday, March 25th | 12:00–1:00 PM

Create & Calm: Sensory Tools for Stress Relief
📅 Friday, March 27th | 1:00–2:00 PM

I’m proud to be among so many amazing vendors and organizations coming together to support families in such a meaningful way .

All activities + admission are FREE.
If you’re in Chicago, come out, bring your family, and experience it — I’d love to see you there.

Emotions live in the nervous system, not just the mind.
Movement helps create safety , and safety allows regulation.

Come get ready with me.

I I’m big on morning routines—not because they’re trendy, but because they regulate your nervous system.

My mornings aren’t about doing everything… they’re about doing a few things that help my body feel safe before the world starts asking things of me.

Even five minutes of movement, breath, or quiet can change how you show up for the rest of the day.

This routine grounds me, centers me, and reminds my body that I’m in control...not my stress.
