Season’s changing and my comfort-food cravings been LOUD… so I made this sweet potato pizza 🍠

Roast it, smash it, top it, and slide it back in the oven. Quick, plant-based, cozy, and hits every time.
Our bodies ask for different things in fall + winter—warmth, grounding, and easy nourishment. Listen ...❤️

Y’all hear me fighting for my LIFE up this hill 😅
But listen… sometimes the climb is rough, the air is thin, and you’re questioning all your decisions .. and then you look up and realize the view was worth every step.

Here’s your reminder: you can do hard things, and the view from your next level is waiting on you too.

First Snow Reflections + Cozy Cravings:

The first big snow has arrived ❄️

Nature is slowing down — and our bodies often want to do the same. This is the season when many of us start craving warm, grounding foods like soup, stew, or tea. It’s not just comfort — it’s eco-psychology in action.

As daylight shortens, our energy naturally shifts inward. We seek warmth, nourishment, and stillness — mirroring what’s happening in nature around us.

Tonight, I made a cozy vegan beef vegetable stew, filled with root veggies, herbs, and intention. It’s a reminder that we can create warmth from within, even when the world outside is cold and still.

🌿 If you’ve been feeling the winter blues or noticing changes in your energy or mood — you’re not alone.

I’d love to invite you to join my Resilient Reflections: Winter Wellness Group, where we share gentle seasonal wellness practices, mindful tips, and virtual + in-person check-ins to help you stay balanced this winter.

✨ Come for connection, conversation, and care.

🍲 What’s your go-to comfort meal or snack when it’s cold outside? Share below — I’d love to read your ideas 💛 Type recipe in the comments for my vegan beef stew.

Beyond Talk at Chicago State :

It’s always such a joy and honor to return home to Chicago State University. ❤️🖤💚

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share my presentation, “Reimagining Mental Health Through a Somatic and Body-Based Perspective.”

We explored movement, practiced sound bathing, and reflected on how healing can begin beyond words—through the body, breath, and community.

Thank you to the students, faculty, and everyone who showed up with openness and curiosity.

🍂 Goodbye October, Hello November.
Fall has always been one of my favorite teachers.

In eco-psychology, we talk about how the cycles of nature mirror our own inner cycles — reminding us that change, release, and stillness are not endings but part of renewal.

The trees don’t fight to hold on. They let their leaves fall — layer by layer — trusting that rest and regeneration will come.

October invited me to do the same: to walk, to breathe, to reflect, and to let go of what no longer serves.

As we move into November, may we remember that slowing down is sacred.

Movement, community, and mindfulness keep us grounded through every season. 🌿

Here’s to walking gently into this new month — rooted, resilient, and ready to bloom again. 🌸

I had an amazing time presenting The Food–Mood Connection at IU!

It was inspiring to meet so many incredible people who are making a difference in their communities and supporting families through food security and wellness initiatives.

Our conversation explored how what we eat truly impacts how we feel — physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Here’s to continuing the movement toward holistic health, nourishment, and mindful eating for mental well-being.
