I wasn't just about to host workshops at Navy Pier and leave!!!

I stayed and PLAYED! I saw this Double Dutch workshop and had to jump in, literally!

I hadn't jumped Double Dutch in decades. This was pure nostalgia, a childhood staple and rite of passage on my block. My cousins and I stayed with a clothesline...lol

Who played Double Dutch? Who was double-handed? Who needed the single rope?🤣🤣🤣🤣

Late post: I had the opportunity to facilitate a Lunch & Learn about burnout with IU Northwest medical students.

Not just talking about burnout, but practicing how to regulate it through somatic movement + breath.

Shoutout to our future doctors for being open to learning how to take care of themselves too 🩺

Hey friends!!!Navy Pier will be hosting a full week of Spring Break programming for children and families in Chicago and it’s such an exciting lineup of free activities, creativity, movement, and wellness experiences. The events run Monday, March 23rd through Friday, March 27th.

I’m honored to share that I’ve been selected to be a part of it as a workshop facilitator. As someone who grew up in Chicago and has so many memories at Navy Pier, being able to return in this capacity, representing my own practice is truly a full-circle moment.

I’ll be leading two experiences focused on mental wellness, movement, and self-regulation for children and families:

Magical Moves & Soothing Sounds
šŸ“… Wednesday, March 25th | 12:00–1:00 PM

Create & Calm: Sensory Tools for Stress Relief
šŸ“… Friday, March 27th | 1:00–2:00 PM

I’m proud to be among so many amazing vendors and organizations coming together to support families in such a meaningful way .

All activities + admission are FREE.
If you’re in Chicago, come out, bring your family, and experience it — I’d love to see you there.

Emotions live in the nervous system, not just the mind.
Movement helps create safety , and safety allows regulation.

Come get ready with me.

I I’m big on morning routines—not because they’re trendy, but because they regulate your nervous system.

My mornings aren’t about doing everything… they’re about doing a few things that help my body feel safe before the world starts asking things of me.

Even five minutes of movement, breath, or quiet can change how you show up for the rest of the day.

This routine grounds me, centers me, and reminds my body that I’m in control...not my stress.

First sessions are a little awkward, a little all over the place…..and very human.

We’re all just figuring it out together šŸ˜…

This is a Koshi chime, tuned to the Earth tone.

The Earth tone is connected to grounding, stability, and feeling supported.

It’s often used to help calm the nervous system, especially when things feel heavy, overwhelming, or scattered.

You don’t have to do anything—just listen, breathe, and let your body settle.

MOVE IT MONDAY:

Issa E-learning Day ! Alayna picked picked this one!

No pressure.
No intense workout.
Just movement, and a little joy on a winter day.

However you can move today—counts.

Today I took the day off… not to rest, but to learn.

As licensed mental health professionals...yup PROFESSIONALS..for those in back...not hearing well..

We’re held by ethics, a governing body, and ongoing continuing education requirements.

That means graduate-level training, thousands of clinical hours, supervision, and staying current with research and best practices.

I’m currently continuing my EMDR training and somatic therapy certification—because healing evolves, and so should we.

When choosing a mental health provider, it’s okay to ask about training, licensure, and continuing education.

Not because one path is ā€˜better’..but because informed care matters.

Winter can be heavy.
The holidays can bring stress, sadness, and moments where isolating feels easier than reaching out.

I’m hosting Coffee & Conversation — a gentle, welcoming space to connect, reflect, and care for your mental wellness during the winter months.

This is not a therapy session, but a supportive community space where we’ll share conversation, enjoy coffee, and maybe even do some light creative or grounding activities together.

Healing doesn’t always happen alone.
Sometimes it happens in connection and community.
