Hi all! I know I’ve been pretty quiet since the holidays, I’ve just been taking some time to settle in.
I started at new amazing job that I am absolutely loving, while also balancing this business and a PRN job. Starting a business is HARD. And sometimes you put in hours and hours of work to hit the ground running with your business and then quit your full time job because you have a whole list of people on a wait list for you to start, aaand then they all ghost you 🙃
The whole process feels so defeating. Especially when you’re not able to help support your family financially like you need to be, because you dreamed too big and reality decided you needed a little wake up call 😂

So anyway, all this to say that I’m still here!! I’m 100% still practicing and taking referrals 🙂 I love OT and what it can do for people, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to do it my own way!

You can find me at Rise Therapy & Wellness in Richland most days. I’m also working with Heritage Assisted Living at their memory care center giving presentations about different topics about dementia. You can find me there this Wednesday at 12! Send me a message or text if you’re interested in joining so I can get you an RSVP 🙂 there’s even free lunch!

Here I am, the face behind the annoying Facebook posts! (I’m the top of the human teepee).

My name is Cassie, and right here is my reason for starting this business: my family. I want my babies to grow up seeing a mama who fights for her dreams, and when every job in the healthcare system felt so wrong - started my own business so I can treat clients how they SHOULD be treated and do things the right way. So I can be a partner instead of another hand on the conveyor belt. So when my husband and I are in our rocking chairs on the front porch watching the clouds, we can be proud of what we spent our lives doing.

Happy Small Business Saturday!

Here’s a reminder to think about choosing small shops and businesses (like mine 😉).

Small businesses are about the experience. Your favorite local breakfast spot is better than iHop because they’re small so:

-They take the time to carefully make your food instead of the mass-produced assembly line of chain restaurants
-They’re more personable, and chances are if you go there frequently they actually know your name
-The service is leaps and bounds better because they CARE. They pour their heart and soul into their business because it’s their pride & joy!

The same goes for therapy. This isn’t a chop shop therapy where the therapist is double booked to make as much money as possible for the company, doesn’t have time to get to know you and doesn’t remember your name or anything about you by the next session. This is a partnership between us, and I provide quality services because at the end of the day, what I do reflects on me and only me.

I do home assessments too! If you have a parent or grandparent who wants to remain home but you’re worried about their safety, I can walk through the home and provide recommendations for equipment, modifications for the environment or even the way they perform tasks to reduce fall risk and maximize their independence. I can also help with the equipment ordering process which can be a nightmare of its own.

As someone who has worked in private homes, assisted living facilities and nursing homes, those who are home are nearly always happier than those living elsewhere. And frequently, they could likely still remain in their home with the right education and supports. Home is where the heart is and I’m so passionate about helping people stay there.

I can also provide traditional occupational therapy services in the home as well. And I accept Medicare!
