We’re happy to announce that beginning Monday, April 6th Southern Michigan Pain Consultants will be open and treating patients at all three SMPC clinic locations- Portage, St. Joseph and Marshall.

Telehealth visits will continue to be offered by SMPC’s physician assistance and nurse practitioner.

Please be aware that only patients will be allowed in the clinic and every patient will have their temperature taken upon entering the waiting room.

In adherence to Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order, all clinics at Southern Michigan Pain Consultants are currently closed. We are working as quickly as possible to equip our practice with the ability to conduct some appointments via telemedicine. If you were scheduled for an upcoming appointment, and your appointment can be conducted via telemedicine, members of our staff will reach out to you directly.
As this situation is changing quickly, we are continuously re-assessing our patient care continuity plan. We will continue to respond to voice mails and patient portal messages in the order in which they are received. We are currently working with extremely reduced staff, and appreciate your patience and understanding during this unprecedented crisis.

In light of recent concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19), you can be assured that Southern Michigan Pain Consultants has always employed, and continues to employ the highest standards of safety and infection control protocols. At the present time, all SMPC locations will be open as usual for patient appointments. The safety and care of our patients, staff and surrounding communities are our number one priority. To do our part to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Southern Michigan Pain Consultants has implemented the following policies and processes, effective immediately.
1. Only patients will be allowed in the clinic. Drivers or other persons accompanying the patient must remain in the car.
2. The temperature of every patient will be taken in the clinic, before any patient is taken back to the exam room or therapy location. Anyone with a temp of 100.4 degrees or above will immediately be asked to leave the facility, and rescheduled via phone.
Reminder: Please call our office to reschedule your appointment if you are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, if you have traveled to any of the Level 3 countries within the last 14 days, or have any reason to believe that you have been exposed to COVID-19. Thank you and as always be safe!
