We love our patients, but we need you to be here on time and to confirm your appointment with us when we call you. We will leave you a message, in fact, we call you twice! If we do not get a confirmation call, we will unfortunately have to cancel your appointment. We have had too many patients that do not confirm or no show for their appointments.
If you do not confirm your appointment, your appointment will be cancelled and rescheduled to the next available appointment. Your spot will be filled with a patient on our cancellation list….

It is not fair to our other patients that wait to be seen and to our doctors who do not have spots filled due to no shows.

As always, we appreciate the ongoing support and are happy to serve you.
We would like to remind everyone of our appointment policy:
We do make phone calls one week prior to your appointment. We will leave a message and we will give a second reminder call if we do not get a confirmation the first time we try to call
However, after 2 attempts, if we do not get a confirmation, we will cancel your appointment.
We are an extremely busy office and we have a wait list of over 30 people waiting to get in.
Please remember to take a moment to call us back to confirm your appointment when you receive your call. Telling us you planned on coming to your appointment once you get here is not a prior confirmation!
We never like to have to cancel an appointment, but have had far too many people in the past not confirm and not show up for their set appointments. Therefore, we have created this policy to allow a consent, consistent flow.
Be sure to bring your insurance card as well! Many patients have new insurance this year and may not realize their policy numbers have changed and we cannot bill properly if we do not have proper information!

Cory Eyecare will be a drop off location for Portage School district wide school supply drive!!
You can drop off any donation during our business hours and place in the box located in our lobby. When the box has an adequate amount of donations, they will be taken to the administration building where individual teachers can access what they are in need of…

This donation drive will run throughout the school year.

As the eclipse is nearing on April 8th, we would like to remind you to NEVER look at the sun for any extended period of time. You can find special glasses for the event at several retailers if you choose to watch the eclipse. Sunglasses are not enough protection either!! Your sight is precious

Happy New Year!! As we begin a new year, we want to be sure everyone knows their insurance plans as you prepare to come in for your exams. Please be sure you bring your insurance cards and photo ID. Be sure we are STILL in your network!! We have had many patients come in with new insurance, which we are out of network for. Vision insurance and medical insurance are two different things! Please know what you are being seen for with your visit: glasses and contacts or medical issues with your eyes.
We are NOT providers for Medicaid and some HMO plans. Please call us if you do not know what your insurance is. It is ultimately the patients responsibility to know your insurance, but we would be happy to tell you if you are no longer in our network, BEFORE you make you way to us!

We are always happy to see our patients!
Here are a few things to remember before your appointment…. 👓

Be sure to bring copies of your photo ID and insurance cards. We will be taking copies of these!
Know your insurance and what you are being seen for. Vision insurance is used for glasses , contacts and yearly vision exams for overall eye health. Medical insurance is used for anything health related to your eyes ( diabetic exams, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, corneal abrasions, etc.). If you are not sure what insurance will be billed, please ask us before being seen!)
Arrive at the time you are told. We prep our patients before the doctor sees you!
Updating paperwork, scanning patients, tests. We will tell you what time to arrive when we call you for your confirmation call.
We make our calls 1 week prior to your appointment. This allows us to find someone to take your place if you cannot make your appointment. If you do not show up for your appointment, do not call in at least 24 hours prior to, or arrive late, you will be marked as a no show and rescheduled. New patients that do not show up for their appointments, will not be rescheduled. We have a very busy office and it is not fair for many patients to wait, while others do not give courtesy calls.
Do not wait until you need contacts to make your appointment!!! We are usually 6 to 8 weeks out on appointments (and most patients make their appointments before they leave from their last appointment) we are a busy office and continue to appreciate your support over the years, however the supply chain is still having issues, so glasses and contacts are still taking 2-3 weeks to get to us after your order is placed!
Many patient’s have insurance that has changed. If your insurance has changed, please make us aware. We may not be in your network. We do not take Spectera, Davis vision or Medicaid and several others Unfortunately, many patients have made appointments and have given incorrect insurance information, wait to see us and then told they are not in our network. We do not like turning patients away, please help us help you!
