New research alert!
Funded by the NIH, the research underscores the benefits of acupuncture for chronic low back pain in older adults.
The study found that seniors receiving acupuncture reported significant improvements in physical function and pain reduction compared to those receiving standard medical care such as medication or physical therapy.
These findings support our mission to uphold the highest standards of acupuncture and herbal medicine, while also reinforcing the importance of advancing HR 1667 (The Acupuncture for Seniors Act). Expanding Medicare coverage for acupuncture can ensure older Americans have greater access to safe, effective, and evidence-based care.
