Kimberly's Congenital Heart Defect Journey CHD is a battle! Some win and some lose! I have been winning like a true Warrior since 1978.
I had 5 open heart surgeries. A pacemaker since 1996.

The left side picture is of me before Ascites became another health problem.. The right side picture is of me and two of my cousins this afternoon. Look at the difference approximately 10 years can make. My body can't carry the extra fluid/weight much longer. I'm ready to get this taken care of soon rather than later.

Even though today was about Celebrating The Life of one of my Cousins, Jeff.
I learned today that he's being buried in the same cemetery as not only his Dad, but to many of our Aunts and Uncles. Most importantly, it's also where my grandparents are buried as well. I did take a few pictures of the headstone of our Gone, But Not Forgotten Family. Growing up, I had 3 favorite Uncles and today, one of them, I had mistaken him for another brother (the grandparents must have started running out of names because they gave 2 sons the same first name.) The Uncle whose headstone I saw was one of my favorite Uncles. That Uncle would always tell me I'm a little nightmare and the child I was responded back to that if I'm a little nightmare, he's a big nightmare. I was happy to see my numerous cousins and their children. I had a good day and I hope the next time I see them it's under different circumstances.

Today, I had my second appointment with my Cardiologist. He's going to have me admitted in the University Of Chicago - Comer's Children's Hospital sometime after August 11th.
I have to go and get the Ascites drained so I won't be so bloated, breathe easier than hopefully in less pain.

My birthday is coming up and I need help deciding where to go to celebrate. 🎂🥳🎈
My brother is going to take me to Red Lobster. 🦞
I just don't know what day. I know he's usually on vacation during the week of my birthday, his son's birthday and his granddaughter. I told him the actual day would be nice.
On Friday, depending on when the funeral is, will determine if I attend a Weekly Friday Night Event called Market On The Square.. I've been wanting to check it out and get some of the food that the county fair has and a new one.
The following weekend is my birthday weekend and I am going to leave it free in case I am needed at the VFW. Hopefully, Saturday is a Red Lobster night and I don't know where should I go out to dinner because I'm tired of grilling out. I love the food, just not the work.
What is your favorite restaurant to eat at especially for your birthday or a special occasion.
Ideas 💡 are greatly appreciated.

Yesterday, I found out that a cousin of mine passed away in his sleep on Friday night/Saturday morning. My Mom had 14 siblings and about 5 of them didn't have any children. The others did and some had numerous children. Now, I just happened to be my Grandparents last grandchild. I played mostly with my second cousins and also, having the heart problems that I have, my cousins didn't include me in whatever they were doing unless my oldest brother was nearby and then, I could. Of course they were boring in my opinion because all they did was get into fights because some of our Uncles would pay the kids who won. Plus, it was boys only! The females were either watching us younger kids or inside with all the other adult females. I don't know all of them, but the ones I do know and grew up with in my life are pretty great!
This morning, I went to church and I left there feeling good. I felt that the pastor was speaking 🗣️ to me. Plus, I was able to talk to my cousin Dennis who is a Pastor himself. He has done nearly every funeral in the family including his Father's. Then, I came home and after everyone left, I took a nap because my teeth were hurting again.
Tomorrow, I have an appointment with my "new" Cardiologist. I fill you with what happens at my appointment tomorrow.

I woke up super early this morning because my tooth 🦷 was hurting. I took a Tylenol and placed ice 🧊 on it. That didn't help, so I took a Xanax I have and went back to bed. I didn't wake up until 12:30P.M. I was able to get my tooth to stop hurting.
So, I ended up going out to the VFW. (not to volunteer)
I met with a friend of mine whom I met when she came to volunteer to cook at the fish fry about 6-7 years ago. We hadn't seen each other in nearly a year. Of course, I visit with others whom I have become friends with in the 12-13 years of being a volunteer and an Auxiliary Member. I'm not now. That's a story for another day.

My brother and sister in law are taking me out to Red Lobster 🦞 for my birthday in a couple weeks. I've only been there twice. Both times, it was a Shrimp 🍤 Fest which I did enjoy. My brother had ordered the lobster flatbread pizza. That was really good. My sister in law says she orders the Ultimate Feast. I might try it. I'm just nervous about tasting the lobster. Those who have been to a local Red Lobster, what do you order? I want to know what appetizers and any adult drinks you recommend too. This recipe is the drink my brother had ordered the first time he and I went. I hope it's on the menu in a couple weeks. If not, my niece will make me one if I buy the stuff.

It's National Ice Cream Day! As a child, I loved, anything that meant a cool, sweet treat. My mom would buy DQ (Dairy Queen) every chance she could treat us. I always ordered an ice cream cone with chocolate ice cream and dipped in the cherry 🍒 hard shell coating. Then, the Blizzards hit the menu and I found a new love.. an Oreo Blizzard.
I still enjoy some DQ from time to time, but sometimes a bowl of ice cream 🍨 loaded with my favorite toppings in the comfort of my home, watching tv is great too!
Now, I don't eat ice cream as much as I'd like. Though, I like butter pecan and Ben and Jerry's Halfed Baked. Now, come Christmas time, I will buy peppermint ice cream from a local ice cream shop named Valpo Velvet.
