Letâs talk about God and tattoos for a minute, because too many people carry shame they donât need to.
Some folks will tell you God is angry if you have tattoos. Theyâll quote verses without really explaining where they came from or what they meant back then. The truth is, when you read the Bible in context, the part about tattoos was about ancient people marking themselves to worship false gods or doing superstitious rituals for the dead. It was never about a mom getting her kidâs name on her arm or someone marking a moment that changed them forever.
God is not petty. He is not standing over you with a magnifying glass judging the ink on your skin. He cares about the marks on your heart. He cares if you are kind when no one is watching. He cares if you forgive people who hurt you. He cares if you show love to people who feel unloved.
Tattoos do not separate you from Him. Religion might tell you they do, but Jesus did not die and rise again just so you could live afraid of what people think about your skin.
If your tattoo reminds you of love, survival, or a moment when you chose to live instead of break, I promise you God sees that. He knows the pain behind it, the story inside it, and He loves you the same.
So donât waste time feeling guilty for things that do not define your faith. Your faith is how you walk in the dark when you canât see the light yet. Itâs how you love your neighbor, raise your babies, forgive your enemies, and talk to Him even on your worst days.
Ink or no ink, you belong to Him. Nothing can change that.
