RGH Making a Difference in People’s Lives Through Exceptional Care, Improved Access and Dedicated and Compassionate Support of our Local Communities

Dermatology Services
RGH identified the need for dermatology services in our community and established an innovative partnership with a specialty physician. Shanna Campbell, C-FNP, was trained to offer specialized dermatology services including greater skin care, diagnosis and treatment. This specialty plays a crucial role in community health by providing diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of skin conditions prevalent in our farming and ranching communities—from common concerns to life-threatening diseases such as skin cancer. With an in-house dermatology provider, community members can conveniently access high-quality care without leaving Roosevelt County.

New and Improved Surgical Suite
RGH has invested millions of dollars in a new, modern surgical suite designed to expand our surgical capacity, enhance patient care and improve recruitment of surgeons who have come to expect these types of facilities. This upgrade will ultimately doublet to triple our capacity to perform needed surgery and reduce wait times. It will also enable more complex surgeries and surgical subspecialties in the future such as orthopedics and urology. Our goal is to reduce wait times and increase access to surgical services locally, eliminating the need to travel for many common procedures.

Swing Bed Program
RGH officially opened a new Swing Bed Program, which offers vital transitional care for patients recovering from acute illness or surgery. This program allows patients to move from acute care either locally at RGH, or from tertiary care hospitals in urban areas, and continue to recover close to home, providing continuity, familiarity, and convenience for both patients and their families. Patients receive short term therapies, physical and occupational rehabilitation, and IV medication regimens, and other supportive services in a comfortable environment close to home to ensure a smoother recovery before discharge.

State-of-the-Art Echocardiogram Services
RGH now offers advanced echocardiogram services using state-of-the-art technology for diagnosing and monitoring cardiovascular conditions. This non-invasive ultrasound tool enables providers to evaluate heart function and identify issues such as heart failure, valve disorders, and damage from heart attacks. Enhanced imaging improves diagnostic accuracy and supports more effective treatment planning, whether its keeping patients local or ensuring they get to higher levels of care as needed.

Free Mammograms During October
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the RGH Radiology Team provided free mammograms to uninsured community members who may otherwise be unable to afford their annual screening. Early detection through mammography can significantly reduce mortality rates by identifying cancer in its earliest stages. This staff-driven initiative aimed to increase awareness of breast cancer and highlight growing health concerns in our region.

MASH Camp
RGH proudly hosted its first Medical Academy of Science and Health (MASH) Camp for high school students to expose them to many various healthcare careers, other than being a doctor or a nurse. Students participated in a full day of hands-on activities such as suturing/surgery, applying tourniquets, mock intubations, CPR, physical therapy exercises, and many others by our skilled and passionate medical professionals. They were able to explore various specialties, experience real clinical environments, and ask questions about potential career paths within health care. Students rated the day with 85% saying they would now consider a career path in healthcare and 100% of students said they would recommend the MASH camp to other students.

Community Giving
RGH remains committed to supporting and uplifting our community through service and outreach:
• Our Business Office leads an annual food drive for the local food bank, and conducted our most successful food drive in RGH history this past year donating approximately 3,600 pounds of food in 2025.
• Staff volunteers adopt “months” and participate in Meals on Wheels, delivering meals to homebound residents.
• Employees raised more than $24,000 for United Way programs benefiting community members in need.
• Staff donated thousands of dollars’ worth of essential items to Hartley House, a local domestic violence shelter.
• RGH constructed a paved walking path on hospital property to promote physical activity and wellness for staff and community members.
• Hosted a 5K Fun Run, raising over $2,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Awards, Recognition, and Organizational Improvements
RGH is dedicated to improving lives through exceptional patient care, and our recent recognitions reflect our commitment to excellence. Awards play a vital role in enhancing employee morale, strengthening patient trust, and attracting top healthcare talent.
• RGH was recognized by Becker’s as one of 100 Great Community Hospitals in the nation.
• The Professional Research Corporation (PRC) honored RGH with the Outstanding Culture Award for our efforts to align staff behaviors with our core organizational values and recognize when employees go above and beyond.
• Patient satisfaction scores have significantly improved across all departments as a result of our focused quality-of-care initiatives, with Clinic Providers and inpatient services exceeding the 75% percentile, and our physical therapy and surgery teams exceeding the 90th percentile of all hospitals surveyed by PRC nationwide.
• Results from an employee engagement survey conducted by a third-party partner showed substantial improvement compared to previous years in terms of both employee engagement and as a place to work.
