Happy Easter!

No matter how dysfunctional a family can be at times we are all striving to get that “good” holiday pic. Where everybody is looking at the camera and looks somewhat pleasant:) I hope you all got a decent one, it's not easy.

A great message was received today. What areas in our life do we need to die to and rely on jesus’s resurrection power? Hopelessness says I’ve gotta take control rather than surrender but what if we put our faith in something bigger than our own strength? We serve a great God🙏🏾❤️.

It may not be new resolutions you bring into the new year but bringing fresh prespective and Energy into a new season can be the catalyst you need for BIG change and growth in your life! Yes change will take more than mantras, but words hold weight. Your language and thoughts control your beliefs and what you believe you will ultimately take action on!

What energy are you bringing? Which one of these do you resonate with the most!

I am praying for a prosperous year of healing, growth and impact! 📸

Happy Black History Month! I often reflect on our history how it has impacted my life, what is my contribution, and give thanks for my family members and ancestors who came before us to help shape the identity, society and rich culture we get to be apart of.

One of my contributions is through food. I created a recipe in honor of my Caribbean heritage for Black History month savoring the flavors I grew up eating curry, ginger, hot pepper, Bay leaf and spices. Food has an enormous influence on our history and culture.

I not only want to honor my heritage with my recipes but also preserve our legacies by sharing the benefits of nutrient rich whole Plant Foods.

To steward our health with what we put on our plate and into our bodies is a celebration of Black History and protects generations to come.

Check out the recipe! Caribbean Lentil Stew.
Ingredients:
1 TBLS avocado or olive oil
2 cups dried brown or green lentils
1 small yellow onion fine diced
3 med-sized carrots peeled and cut into ½ inch cubes
2 large russet potatoes peeled and cut into ½ cubes
1 TBLS minced ginger
2 large cloves of garlic minced
3 sprigs of fresh time stripped and chopped
2 TBLS curry powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Garam Masala
1 large bay leaf
¼ cup Plant Bomb Caribbean Peppa Sauce

I spoke with my folks On] about what Black History Month means to me.

I have an overwhelming feeling of Gratitude for the bravery, the brilliance, the perseverance and all that was endured by my ancestors, my family and my brothers and sisters to pave a way and make space for me to be able to contribute to our legacy. THANK YOU.

Repost from On]

I shifted to Plant-Based Nutrition when I learned about the deep connection between the foods we eat and chronic and metabolic sickness. When I learned what we put on our plate everyday not only serves as fuel but prevention I've been all in on spreading the good word.
Both sides of my family have suffered from many of these illnesses, and some have died too young.
Disproportionately these illnesses affect our Black communities.
-This event is meant to be a resource to our community to help educate and create awareness about living a healthy lifestyle and keeping our Black families healthy.
I am honored to share on the panel with other forces in the health world.

Friends, please share the event with your communities, and those you know will benefit from participating. It's free! Link in my bio.

My guy Quinton coming out of a deep slumber to bless us with a smile!

When people ask you .” what do you do?” How do you respond? Usually with your profession, right? What if you were to think about your true identity and prioritize what you do in your life? What would your answer to that question be?
For me, first, I'm a son of God, and then a husband and father.
Friendly reminder that our worth isn't only in our work.
How would you re-prioritize your answer to that question if asked?

Today was my first legitimate trail run. Hard to believe with all the amazing trails in our backyard.
I was prepared to get the miles in Mentally and physically but also open to the unknown of the trails.
I trusted a new friend to lead the route.
We talked the whole time and had a vulnerable conversation that was liberating, as if we had known each other for years. The miles felt light and relaxing, and the tree top canopy gave us the perfect shade and a light breeze.
Takeaways:
-Running can be a form of healing
-Movement encourages a deep -connection with whom you do it.
-Don't be afraid to step into the unknown
-Always be open to being a student.
-Be the student...
