Hey there I'm Lauren, I was born and raised in the tropics of south Florida ~ from an early age I became interested in different ways of life through exploring world religions and cultural studies. In 2013 I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida with a major in Anthropology, a minor in Environmental Sciences and focus on Ethnobotany. My fascination with the natural world led me to pursue a horticulture apprenticeship at London’s Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. In the summer of 2016, I traveled to Rishikesh, India to receive a traditional Yoga teacher training and am registered with the Yoga Alliance Foundation.
Before deciding to become an acupuncturist, I studied with Dr. Bob Linde AP, RH in Saint Petersburg, Florida where I completed two professional herbalist certificate programs ~ one in traditional Chinese medicine and the other in Western herbalism. My passion for herbal medicine flourished in ways of cultivating local herbs, medicine making and custom formulations. I am entering my final year at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland, Oregon and I will receive my doctorate degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DACM in the summer of 2022.
I specialize in traditional Chinese medicine (herbs) and Japanese style acupuncture. I use gentle techniques, ultra-thin needles and bodywork in the forms of cupping, gua sha and Shiatsu massage.
When not in the clinic you can find me gardening, foraging for plants and minerals, swimming, practicing yoga and lounging with my 11-year-old Maine c**n cat.
