As fall approaches and summer ends here is a look back on our summer trip to CDA Idaho and more memorable moments. ☀️

For many of our clients and staff this was their first time visiting Silverwood the biggest amusement park in the NW.

Our first time attending the Pendleton Round Up! Folks were so lovely, and the scenery was beautiful. We stayed at Emigrant Springs State Park, and our days were packed full of activities: Westward Ho! Parade, Round Up, The Happy Canyon Night Show, accompanied to the Grand Tribal Village, VFW Outdoor Cowboy Breakfast, Pendleton Underground Tour, and the Tribal Ceremonial Dancing. We're already planning for next year!

Melissa invited us to visit the Oregon Donkey Sanctuary (Oregon City) so we could meet and love on the Donks! It's an absolutely lovely organization, with ALL of their donations going directly into the care of the donkeys. We learned about their histories, personalities, goofiness, and hearts. Needless to say, we are in love!

We spent last weekend at Milo McIver State Park, and joined Lori (and Dakota) to watch the fireworks from their house! Such a fantastic view! On Sunday we paddle boarded the entire area at Estacada Lake, and were rewarded with a bald eagle flying over our head. On the return trip, we pulled a shopping cart from the lake and awkwardly paddled back with it. It was a perfect day🥰

Ismael rented a dunk tank for the event! Min spent the entire picnic operating it, encouraging and including everyone in the fun :)

We had the most incredible time celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Blue Lake Picnic!!! So many people came together to make this happen. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and everyone who joined us.

The 10th Annual Blue Lake Picnic is tomorrow, come by and join in the fun! There will be food, crafts, tie dye, raffles, giant bubbles, lawn games, a coffee cart, and Ismael is renting a dunk tank! Who wants to dunk our Executive Director!?! 👋

Blue Lake is HUGE, so there's plenty of room to explore away from the group and enjoy time to yourself.

Our Team spent the weekend in Astoria, joining in the festivities for the 40th Anniversary of The Goonies!

We explored Astoria, walked up to the Goonies House, saw the Oregon Film Museum/Jail House, Flavel House, browsed the downtown, had incredible drinks at Cambium Gallery prepared by the loveliest baristas/artists (Baby Ruth Mocha was the hit of the party), saw the shipwreck at Fort Stevens, a Ghost Busters car, met the best Goonies Fans, and I got my Goonies T Shirt!

Back at the campground, we went swimming, soaked in the hot tub, explored, chopped firewood, played tether ball, GaGaBall, ping pong, pin ball, and many, many games.

Our favorite part, of course, were ADLs 🙂 We planned meals, shopped for groceries, looked at price comparisons, prepped food, grilled and then washed dishes.

We've learned that no matter how perfectly we plan, we'll still run into snafus. And that's ok. We laughed a lot, spent time connecting, took breaks, ate good food, had good conversations, made new friendships, and discussed plans for future activities.

This past weekend we cheered on one of our clients at her Special Olympics basketball tournament! It was so fun to come together and support her 🥈🎉
