Baby Girl V came into the world with speed and a whole lot of excitement! I arrived at 10:15, her water broke at 10:18, the midwife walked in at 10:30… and by 10:50 this powerful mama was holding her baby girl in her arms.
A beautiful, whirlwind home birth that reminded us all that babies come exactly when they’re ready.

Some births ask us to dig deeper than we ever imagined we could. This mama did exactly that. Hours upon hours of steady courage, unwavering determination, and so much heart led to the arrival of sweet Baby C at 4:31am on 9/26/25. As a doula, I’ve seen how powerful it can be when a new mother feels truly supported. Postpartum is tender, sacred, and often overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be lonely.

When you visit new parents, don’t just ask to hold the baby — ask how they’re doing. Hold the mother by bringing a warm meal, switching a load of laundry, or simply sitting with her so she can rest.

Every small act of care makes a big difference in her healing and in how the whole family transitions into this new season.

Yellow beads represent the postpartum families I support. I had the joy of being with this family as they welcomed their little one Baby W 💛 earthside in June and then supporting them in the weeks that followed as they grew into their new roles.

Our experience with Katie was amazing. We hired her on after interviewing multiple doulas. Besides her wonderful personality and bedside manor, her flexibility and knowledge were what drove me to select her. She offered support in anyway that we needed it. When she would arrive during the day, she quickly would start handling tasks we needed done without prompting.

We booked her for 6 overnights which really helped us during the early months. I call her my postpartum fairy. I would get a full nights sleep and wake up to laundry done, dinner prepped and fresh baked muffins. It was magic.

The most important thing was that I knew my screaming baby was safe with her. She road the waves of newborn life with us. From sleepy 4 week old to screaming 3 month old. I knew he was safe with her. I can't say how tremendous it was to have her in our support group.

Saying goodbyes are always hard. They are especially hard when you’ve been building a relationship for over 8 months.

This morning I handed this sweet baby boy over to his mom at 5:00 am for the last time.
I had the pleasure of working with this family during pregnancy, being present and supportive for her during her powerful birth to a sweet little boy, and now watching both the parents and baby grow over the last 7 weeks.

Mom & Dad gave me this beautiful votive candle holder from and a bouquet of my all time favorite flower. Straight from their garden as a parting thank you gift.
Baby? He gave me his first 4:45am blow out, needing full change of clothes and swaddle. 😂😂😂
