I got to work with a new nutrition client and an OG nutrition client tonight! ❤️❤️❤️ I love working with the kiddos and helping to direct them in the right direction! and do an amazing job of that already but it’s helpful to hear it from someone that is NOT your parents!

Your body needs nutrients and you are just not going to get that s**t from processed foods! Meal prep can be simple! This week I did:

Quinoa (cooked in bone broth)
Lentils
Chickpeas
Apples
Feta cheese
Kale
Parsley
Tomatoes
Cucumbers

I add about 4oz of cooked chicken breast to about each 300-350g serving of this!

Also did beef spare ribs, sweet potatoes and broccoli for my other meal prep!

If you want to work on quieting food noise (balancing your blood sugar) and you are not already eating mostly a Whole Foods diet please start there!

Balanced meals = balanced blood sugar!

I’m so excited to offer some different options to you all for nutritional therapy and coaching!! I’m Shannon Pettyjohn owner of Food First NTP and your certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner! I get lots of questions on what nutritional therapy is exactly! It’s a holistic food first approach to wellness focusing on healing the body by taking a look at digestion, blood sugar regulation, fatty acid balance, mineral and hydration balance, and also looking at sleep, stress and movement! Many people try and try to loose weight and feel better on their own and get stuck not seeing the scale budge or feel like they are failing because they can’t stop eating! Often times there are digestion and blood sugar imbalance issues going on making it super discouraging almost impossible to do it on their own! That is what I do! I get to the root cause and help actually fix the problem so that the yo yo self defeating cycle can be broken once and for all!

But that’s not all!! I also LOVE working with people on tracking macros and side by side coaching to help you achieve your goals!! There is no one way fits all when it comes to nutritional therapy and I’m here to help for all of it! ❤️❤️

Be really careful at the claims that packaged foods have on them! This “protein” granola is very high in fat and not very high in protein! A serving is great but granolas like these are very easy to over consume! Make sure to measure portions!

It’s incredible working with people 1:1 and seeing the changes JUST by focusing on the foundations: (whole food diet, digestion, blood sugar regulation, fatty acid balance, mineral balance, hydration, sleep, stress and movement) 🥳🥳🥳

You know it’s gonna be a good day when your breaky looks like this!! 😻

In a world filled with Ozempy - this is your sign to EAT! Our bodies require nutrients that are ESSENTIAL! This means we don’t make them and we HAVE to get them from outside sources! These are: essential amino acids from proteins, essential fatty acids from fats and essential vitamins and minerals often most abundantly found in carbs!

My biggest issue I’m seeing with the weight loss drug is the nutrient deficiencies forming and the skeletal muscle breakdown (you don’t wanna do that trust me especially as a woman in your 40’s)

Please please please EAT! And if you are using the weight loss drug shot and you need some help message me! About 25-30% of the people I work with are on it and I can help make sure you are getting what you need and develop a plan to getting off of it when you are ready!

And for those that don’t know I’m a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) and a real nerd for this s**t! ❤️
