Thriving in todays society demands nearly all of our mental effort. We are constantly available, constantly multitasking, thinking 24/7. It’s stressful! Stress manifests in the body wreaking all sorts of havoc and making it hard to enjoy what we worked so hard for in the first place! I speak from experience, and know I’m not alone.
The first step toward ending this vicious cycle is by finding balance. Practicing yoga is time actively disconnecting from the forefront of the mind. It starts by connecting to our breath. Then we use our breath to expel tension build ups within the body in ancient poses. There are poses and movements for every body! Practice ends with a complex stillness, savasana which feels so good!
Starting might not seem easy, but we all deserve time to reconnect with ourselves behind the part dealing with demands of life. The benefits of growing this stillness within yourself manifests in countless ways, and you will feel better for it.
