At the American Psychiatric Association (APA) 2022 Annual Meeting that began on May 21 in New Orleans, Louisiana,

COMPASS Pathways unveiled the "largest randomized, controlled, double-blind study of Psilocybin therapy ever completed," according to a May 24 press release, and the data shows "significant" improvement to treatment-resistant depression (TRD) symptoms.

Psychedelic research is becoming the future of mental health, with more and more studies showing their effectiveness in the treatment of mood disorders. Psychedelic like Psilocybin, DMT, and ibogaine have been used by ancient civilizations and have recently shown to be more advantageous in terms of effectiveness and adverse effects than traditional antidepressants like SSIs.

Yet Psychedelic aren't completely immune to adverse reaction, like prolonged hallucinatory states and challenging experiences during the trip. This is where comes the need for "next-generation" Psychedelic comes from.

Next-generation Psychedelic are compounds whose structure derives or is built upon classical Psychedelics like DMT, L*D and Psilocybin ---- yet changed by inserting modifications to reduce possible adverse effects and overcomes some limitations met with the first-generation Psychedelic, such as effect variability and duration of the experience.
