What happens at your first acupuncture appointment? New Patient appointments are discounted until the end of March, so we thought we’d demystify the process!

This appointment is a little longer than your average session because it includes a longer intake. During this intake we have a conversation about your goals for treatment and also spend time reviewing how you feel in general. We ask a lot of questions in TCM because we rely on your own experience of your health rather than tests and imaging. Then your practitioner will take a look at your tongue and feel your pulse. Pulse and tongue diagnosis gives us more information about how your body might be out of balance. We will also discuss a treatment plan tailored to your goals.

Finally, we will conclude the session with a custom treatment that might include acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, or herbal medicine. Any other questions? Reach out for a free consultation or schedule an appointment online!
