As June comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a month filled with celebration, connection, and community here at RoseVilla. We came together for a Pride Cookout lunch, danced and cheered during our annual Pride Parade, and celebrated with a vibrant dance party and happy hour. Our halls were brightened by a community art installation, featuring works created by both Residents and Team Members, and today we close out the month with a performance by the Portland Le***an Choir.

Throughout it all, we embraced the spirit of our core value: Just Be You. In every celebration, every piece of art, every moment of joy, we created space for authenticity, expression, and belonging.

From the very beginning of June our Pride flag has been waving high. As our CEO Glen Lewis shared, “Raising this colorful symbol at the start of Pride Month is more than tradition. It's a visible, undeniable affirmation of safety, belonging, and love—for our LGBTQ+ Residents, Team Members, families, and friends.”

That’s why this year, the flag won’t come down. It will continue flying until we install a second flagpole, where it will find a permanent home next to our new RoseVilla flag. Two symbols raised side by side, representing a community that lives its values out loud. Because at RoseVilla, everyone deserves to live and love freely. To be seen. To belong. To be safe.

Til Bardaga! The RoseVilla Vikings are hitting the water this weekend to compete in the Portland Rose Festival Dragon Boat Races. We kicked off the excitement on Friday with our annual pep rally, celebrating our intergenerational team of RoseVilla Residents and Team Members. Yesterday was the start of the races, and today is the final day! Whether you're cheering from the shore or sending us good luck from home, we're feeling the RoseVilla love all the way to the finish line. Let’s go, team!

Happy ! Together with our Residents, we’ve built a community rooted in purpose, care, and connection, and that expresses itself in how we restore and replenish the earth. From our innovative greywater reclamation and water conservation system, to building two Zero-Energy neighborhoods, we strive to incorporate ecologically sound and socially responsible practices into everything we do.

Included in our recent sustainability efforts is the purchase of five electric vehicles that replace our gas-powered transportation fleet. By using electric vehicles for all of our transportation needs, we are significantly reducing our carbon footprint. Every initiative we take is driven by one clear vision: to leave the earth a better place than we found it.

Please join us for our OMA Art Show at the RoseVilla Performing Arts Center on April 25rd. Silent Art Auction 6:30-7:30pm. All proceeds will support RoseVilla’s OMA program. Open to the public.

Opening Minds through Art (OMA) is an award-winning, evidence-based, intergenerational art program for people living with dementia and cognitive loss. It was developed at the Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University in 2007 and is widely replicated across the country. OMA artists are paired with community volunteers who are trained to rely on imagination instead of memory and focus on remaining strengths instead of lost skills.

Earlier this week, RoseVilla came alive with the vibrant spirit of Mardi Gras at our Mardi Gras Happy Hour & Dance Celebration! Residents, Team Members, and little ones from Rosebud Preschool joined in on the fun, making this a truly special intergenerational event. 💜💚💛

With lively music, festive props, a temporary tattoo station, and a delicious spread catered by our incredible Food & Beverage team, the party was in full swing! Moments like these—filled with joy, connection, and fun—are what make RoseVilla a truly special place. 💜✨
