Where are you able to settle and feel the stillness? For me, it happens when I can make a daily practice of visiting my flower garden. After tending, after watering, after securing new shoots, after cutting dead flowers, after all this, I sit and surrender. In that surrender, the flowers move toward me and still and open my heart.

Poetry is one of the languages of DREAM.

Often I hear that life is so busy and it is difficult to recall dreams. Sometimes we can feel far away from the dreamworld. And perhaps, we are far away from a state of being, where we are able to enjoy the deep aesthetic quality of life as it is. Poems often open me to drift closer to being here.

Creativity asks us to open to something greater than ourselves, however we experience this. Jean Houston Page (Official) describes the intelligence beyond our little self as "The Beloved" which she describes as having a very personal interest in us. Jung agreed, referring to the Beloved as the SOUL, PSYCHE, and the big "s" SELF.

When we open our awareness to the existence of this greater Self by dwelling in life's wonder and incompleteness, our awareness shifts and our capacity to create and express (despite the uncertainty) grows and grows.

This other, this numenous one, speaks to us by shapeshifting from image to image, as if communicating with a kind of imagistic sign language to help us come to know ourselves more fully. Aristotle called this animated force the entelechy. (from Greek entelecheia which means "that which realizes or makes actual what is otherwise merely potential."
