local personal shopper alert!
โ€œHi-
I am a personal grocery shopper/kitchen stocker filling a need I have seen in pdx for affordable delivery from Winco that is masked, and Covid safe. I offer evening delivery 9pm onward (due to my own disability: a photosensitivity disorder).
I am currently looking to take on 2 more clients in East Portland for consistent weekly/biweekly delivery but may be open to other locations or stores, and one time/less frequent deliveries so please feel free to reach out with needs.
This service might be useful for you, if you are a parent, immunodeficient or have limited ability to get to the store safely in the evening for any reason. Although my service is a little more than delivery from Amazon, in most cases this is offset by the affordable prices at Winco and vast selection.
As part of my service I offer to put your groceries away masked inside your home once established if needed / wanted. I am currently charging 30-35 dollars a shop. Please contact me at:
celiapersonalshopper@gmail.com
(Items can be delivered with 2 day ice packs in a styrofoam cooler to a secure porch location etc if delivery window is too late for you or your family. This guarantees the items will still be safe in the morning.)โ€

Considering wearing a mask again but nervous about how uncomfortable they are? Here are some tips for easing that. Let us know if you want a sample pack to try!

ID: Soft green background. Black text reads, "Tip sheet for managing mask discomfort.

Find the right mask! There are hundreds of different sizes and styles of kn95 and n95 masks. Finding one that fits your individual face most comfortably is key.

Upgrade from cloth or medical masks that stick to your face, which provide subpar protection against airborne particles like viruses anyways.

Take breaks! Switch up your masks throughout the day, or find isolated spots where you can remove your mask for breaks.

Try to make the rest of your outfit more comfortable! Wear cozy clothes that help limit sensory or temperature dysregulation.

Consider personal cooling devices like neck fans, or carrying stim toys to help ease discomfort.

Additional mask supports can help, like anti-fog spray, mask tape, mask braces, ear extenders, nose foam strips, and more!

A helpful affirmation:
Doing our best to manage discomfort in order to keep each other safe is what community care is all about. We keep us safe!

๐Ÿ“… Tuesday, July 15 | In NE Portland

Looking for a learning space rooted in creativity, care, and community? Come meet us!

The Reframe Collective is a constellation of micro schools for kids, youth, and adults โ€” and tomorrow is your chance to visit, explore, and connect in person.

Weโ€™re currently enrolling for three vibrant programs:

โš™๏ธ๐ŸŒˆ 11:00 AMโ€“1:00 PM โ†’ Tool School & Rainbow School Open Studio (ages 5โ€“18+)

This is a relaxed, playful time to visit our space, meet Caitlin and blue, and let your child try things out. We welcome new and returning families โ€” especially those new to Portland or looking for a trusted place to land.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Masks are required at this gathering and in most of our cohorts. This is one of the ways we practice collective care โ€” keeping our programs accessible to medically vulnerable and immunocompromised members of our community.

๐Ÿ’ซ Priority enrollment ends July 31
๐ŸŽ Enroll by then to receive a special invite to our Wardrobe Revamp Workshop in early September!

๐Ÿ“ฌ Message us here or email reframenw@gmail.com for the address

๐Ÿ’Œ Please share this invite with anyone you think might be a great fit!

Tomorrow is your last day for priority enrollment.

If you've been thinking about joining our learning community, now is the time to take that step.

We believe deeply in creating spaces where children can explore, create, and grow as their authentic selves. These learning communities โ€” where curiosity is celebrated, creativity flourishes, and every child belongs โ€” represent our vision for what education can be when it centers care and connection.

Our three schools:

๐ŸŒฟ Pre.School + Kinder (ages 2-7) โ€” for the earliest explorers

๐Ÿ›  The Tool School (ages 5-14) โ€” for makers and tinkerers

๐ŸŒˆ The Rainbow School (ages 7-adult) โ€” identity-affirming creative cohorts, including our new adult group Chroma

Every program centers community care, creative expression, and learning that honors the whole child.

Priority enrollment closes tomorrow at midnight. Early enrollers get invited to our summer Wardrobe Revamp Workshop where kids will dye, alter, and customize clothing together.

Masked Night at OMSI
June 22 @ 6:00 pm โ€“ 9:00 pm

OMSI is pleased to host a night at the museum for those who are immunocompromised, a low-capacity evening, PPE masks required (N95 or KN95 only). In the main lobby, we will have a table offering free masks for all guests.

All guests, staff, security, etc., attending or working the event will be required to wear an N95 or KN95 mask with no valves or SIP valves, no matter your age, which will be provided for free in the main lobby if needed.

We kindly ask that young children who are unable to wear a mask not attend this event. We understand that young children are also immunocompromised but have decided to make this event masks required for everyone. We are exploring ways to include young children in future offerings.
