Self-care is more than bubble baths!
“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence. It is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
-Audre Lorde
This workshop invites you to explore a more complete understanding of “self-care." One that is political. One that does not ask you to choose between yourself, your values, and your love of caring for others. One that does not dismiss, ignore, or invalidate the impact of the broken, oppressive systems that helpers, and those we serve, must navigate daily.
Participants will integrate what they already know with what they want to do and develop a plan for how to make that sustainable in the context of their lives.
In this four-hour training, helpers will learn and integrate elements of self-care to create a sustainable practice and prevent burnout.
Participants will receive a self-care box with items to support the development of systems for self-compassion and care; and The Model - a therapeutic tool that provides a trauma-informed way of understanding the vagus nerve, designed by Pulse Wellness Cooperative Founder, Rosanne Marmor, LCSW - valued at $120.
This session is being offered to people who identify as Q***r. This is the first of four offerings in 2025 to support helping professionals, creators, activists, and others to integrate sustainable care in preparation for an uncertain future. CEU's available.
This four-hour workshop invites you to explore a more complete understanding of “self-care.” For Q***r/LGBTQIA2S+ helpers.
