🍁 Let go of the things that are not serving you.

🍁 Spend time with friends.
🍁 Get outside every day.

This weekend, in between French toast, football cheers, and soccer games… my 9-year-old daughter looked at me and asked:

“Mom, do you want to meditate with me?”

🤯No prompting. No plan. Just her noticing, absorbing, and reflecting back what she’s seen me model.

So we grabbed towels, climbed up onto the big rocks in our yard, turned on calming music, and sat (well, as you can see from this pic, she lied down 😘)

Eyes closed. Breathing. Listening. (Until the dogs barked around minute 4 😉).

Here’s what this moment reminded me of:
🌱 Our children are always watching. Even the things we don’t directly teach, they absorb.

🌱 Silence—though uncomfortable at first—can be one of the most powerful ways to meet yourself.

🌱 Slowing down doesn’t require 20 minutes of meditation. Sometimes it’s just 3 deep breaths.
In a world that seems to speed up every day, sometimes the most radical thing you can do is pause.

Breathe. And practice silence.

We kicked off Day 1 of our 3-Part Live Training: The ROCKSTAR Mom Blueprint: 3 Steps to DITCH Overwhelm, People Pleasing and Chaos.  A HUGE shoutout to the 137 of you who registered for this so far – whether you caught it live, or planning to catch the recording, I see you!
 
And like so many things in life, things don’t always go as planned. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 

Despite multiple practice runs, when we went live yesterday two major hiccups!:

→I couldn’t get Zoom chat to work.  (I had planned this Day 1 Training to be very interactive, so sh*****t!)

 →About 25 minutes in, I learned I had been sharing my presentation in “presenter mode” (so the audience saw all my notes…. Well, sh******t #2! Luckily all they saw was an inside view to my brain LOL) 🤪
 
But you know what, I kept rolling with it.  
I laughed it off. I told myself, if anything, the attendees got to experience THE REAL ME. The imperfect me. The passionate me. 😁

The recovering people pleaser in me really didn’t care what people may have thought about these imperfections.  The old me would have been sooo embarrassed and totally would have been concerned with what others thought. But, here I am.  Living with flexibility and self-acceptance. 

AND getting curious as to how I can continue to improve, not only so my pretty power point looks good, but so I can continue to lead women like you in living your best, most Rockstar-filled life, where you feel amazing in mind, body and soul.

Cross country flights, college parties, navigating early adulthood.  Young and in love was how we started. ✈️ ❤️
 
Here we are 20 years later (celebrating 17 years married today! 🤯) and it’s been quite a journey. 

So many moves I cannot count them.  Three beautiful children.  Tragedy and loss.  Fun and growth.  We’ve been through a lot. ❤️

Here’s what I know to be true:
 
Relationships take work. 

Relationships take vulnerability. 

Relationships take acceptance. 

Relationships take trust.

We fall into old patterns and fight, we disagree and then we work through. 

We dream and explore and laugh and love.

One thing I’ve learned so deeply on my own personal development journey in “doing the work” is that the more I’ve gotten to know MYSELF – my needs, my desires – the more I’ve been able to fully show up in my relationship. The easier it is to communicate my desires and ask for my needs.  The more I’ve been able to feel LOVE.
 
AND … It comes back to what I preach daily.  It starts with taking care of YOU, my friend. ❤️

I know self-care can get a bad rap, but in reality, it just means, what do you do to CARE FOR YOURSELF? 😘

Yes, massages and pedicures and bubble baths are good, but what true self-care, or as author describes as “Real Self-Care,” is how we take care of ourselves on a regular basis, at a deeper level.

I recently had the opportunity to share a bit about how Nervous System Regulation and Resiliency plays into your own self-care practices. I shared about:
—What the nervous system is and why it’s important
—The difference between regulation and resiliency
—Some simple ways to begin better taking care of your nervous system.
